Trouble in that top order right now and having DeKock hand over the gloves to the understudy would solve 4 or 5 and boost that depth even if Markram resumes sooner

Even Philander (who I believe is retiring after the next Test) has looked a shadow of his former self this series. He was never quick relying on line and length with a bit of swing and seam but he is barely even reaching 115km/h and they are playing him with ease.

All over now but at least the last wicket stand between Maharaj & Paterson put on a stoic 99 to at least make the Poms fight for it a little before going down 2-1 in the series now with 1 to play and no Rabada after his 1 match suspension for his outburst after taking Root's wicket.

I know they have to meet certain quotas in regards to players in their side but how Bavuma continues to get a game is astonishing....I think he has played 40 Tests or similar as a specialist batsman and has only 1 Test century and an average of 30.

Seems to do ok v Aust sadly....but yep SA do look like what Aust did after losing McGrath, Warne, Langer, Hayden and Gilchrist in a short space of time...AB, Amla, Steyn, Morkel, Duminy and now Philander will be hard to replace...can see Du Plessis jumping ship to the short form circuit soon...don't envy De Kock one bit...actually after those crass Warner jibes actually think it's a bit of karma....Ribada needs to control his emotions because he might find himself more out than in with a pile of demerit points....
