Brendon Julian and Jo Angel in the mid 90s would be my guess DD.
I don’t include Mitchell Johnson (QLD), Brad Williams (VIC), or Matthew Nicholson (NSW) as all are from and started their careers in other states.

Yeh I couldn't think of any since BJ and Big Joe BH. Been a long time. He's a breath of fresh air in the attack I reckon.

bh: absolutely correct to leave them out; as you know, the fact that all those bowllers played for WA is actually a hint at the reason why we have not won the Shield for twenty years; I nearly piddlled myself when the WACA included Johnson in our best ever XI.

Listening to JL on the radio this arvo, sounds like he’s not the slightest bit worried about Starc. Backed him all the way.

Funnily enough AR & DD WA has actually produced a few Test spinners in that time- Hogg, Casson, Beer, Agar etc...bizarre considering we play on the fastest bounciest pitch in the country (along with the GABBA) and our past reputation for producing top quality quickies and swing bowlers.
Regarding young WA quickee Jhye Richardson to quote old moonface Bert Newton at the Logies many years ago- "I like the boy"!!

TBH if the likes of NCN, Paris and Behrendorf had any sort of body, pretty sure one of those 3 would of played for Aust in the longer format in the last few years...though Behrendorf is an ACT boy.....

The likeable thing about Richardson BH, is that he is all heart....and gives his all.....runs in hard all day.....really need to give Pucovski a go to put a late silver lining to what has been a deplorable summer and 12 months for the boys wearing the baggy green.....

Spot on AR also throw in Yardley, Hogan, Mann & Terry Jenner who like Mallet left WA for SA to improve his chances of playing First Class/Test Cricket.

Interesting to see the selectors have now added Marcus Stoinis to the 2nd Test squad for the upcoming inaugural Canberra Test Match starting on Friday.

Canberra will be a pretty flat track BH so Stoinis will probably come in as the 5th bowler and bat at 6. Unfortunately that means Kurtis Patterson may have to make way, which would be unfortunate after a decent debut by him. The only way I could see him keeping his spot is if they leave out Burns and move everyone up one spot, which would mean Khwaja would open. I don't think Mitchell Starc would be dropped even though he so out of form but he still offers more than the alternative (Siddle)
