I saw an article after the first test saying how the Aussies were on the way back. Can’t wait to see the next edition when we win this series!!!

Well...that didn't take long. The Sinhalese were certainly no India that's for sure. Hopefully it's just the tonic needed to instil some much needed confidence into the top order as we head towards the Ashes.

In these current times of Aust cricket, any win is a good win.....yeah SL were less than average but if Aust hadn't of won the mood would be even gloomier.....one positive batting wise to come out this summer was the form and consistency of Head at 5.....still a work in progress, but atleast competed against India's strong bowling attack without going big, then went big v a weakened SL bowling attack....unlike Harris who went backwards v SL....Cummins showed his wicket taking prowess and ability to bowl fast and long spells....Richardson was a breath of fresh air from the all Baggy Blue bowling attack....wears his heart on his sleeve with less arrogance and attitude than both Starc and Hazlewood show.....I guess Richardson will make way when Hazelwood returns, but would prefer Starc and Hazelwood battling out that 3 rd bowling spot. Think Burns will open with Warner v England....Uzzie at 3, Smith 4, Head 5 Patterson 6 .....Labuschagne is keen, but don't think he is good enough to bat 3 4 or 5 v stronger attacks....6 at best....be interesting to see who will be the back up batsmen with the Dukes coming into play late Feb.....

SL are off to SA now....poor buggers.....been a long summer for them sadly.....

WOW
I think I have just seen one of the greatest Test wins in history by Sri Lanka toppling South Africa in Durban.
Chasing 304 for victory and being 9 down with still nearly 100 to get SL have pulled it off thanks to one of the greatest innings of all time considering the circumstances by Kusal Perera 153* who made the fearsome SA pace quartet of Steyn, Rabada, Philander & Olivier plus left arm spinner Maharaj look like a Primary School attack.
Astonishing cricket and take a bow SL who copped an absolute hammering over here only a week or 2 ago and are still missing Angelo Matthews and a couple of others from their best side!
Another example why Test Cricket at its best is far and away the greatest form of cricket superb stuff SL!

Incredible Test match mate easily in the best Tests I have ever seen in my time up there with the Ashes clashes like the Boxing Day Test in 82/83, Edgbaston Test 05, Adelaide 06/07, the Tied Tests etc.

Theres only 2 tests so they can't lose the series Freezin. Fantastic performance by Perera and great support act by the number 11,will certainly go down in cricket folklore. Maybe the South Africans relaxed a bit when they got to one wicket from victory and they couldnt find that wicket ball. Obviously Philanders absence made a huge difference but I felt that Duplessis could have given his spinner a chance with about 30 needed as he may have induced an error from Fernando. I thought Rabada bowled poorly.
Certainly a great result for test cricket though to follow up the unexpected West Indies victory over England.
