Unbelievable result for Fremantle, read recently Weller wasn't even on the top ten in the club f&b. Fremantle remarkably now have pick 2 and 5. When was the last time we've had two picks inside the top ten? Not for a damn long time.

Would definitely be going for Naughton from what I have seen in the WAFL this year. Swans boy Sam Taylor also would be worth a look at. Very versatile.

Have you stopped grinning yet Anchorman? I still can't believe that Gold Coast handed the Dockers the number 2 draft pick. They must have been desperate to get Weller who probably didn't help his new team by announcing his intentions so late.

would have been better if it had been a Victorian team that they turned over like that. Gold Coast are not in a great place right now, what with losing their best player today and with a new coach who must wonder what he has got himself into.

yep a good result for Freo but mind you they have a well worn record of stuffing up at the draft. GCS get a tried and tested player in Weller who is not a superstar but will be ok for them and Freo have to make sure they use the pick well. ...that's the challenge as we've seen through history low draft picks don't necessarily become great AFL players....Jack Watts case in point.

Naughton definitely and possible Oscar Allen would be nice. The ruckman forward we have been linked to does look good but I’d hate for him to want to head home after 3-4 yeas.

Mike I think Sam Taylor looks very good. Percy Johnson likes him as well. I think he’ll go in the 20’s but if he his still available at pick 42 or there abouts then Freo should snap him up.

I heard a whisper that Luke Davies-Uniacke has already been told by Fremantle that they are going to pick him at number 2. A powerful midfielder, he was outstanding in last years TAC cup finals. Looks impressive. Oscar Allen was listed at around 16 in the phantom draft but he may well go up the list. He may be tempting for West Coast if he is still around at their first pick.

It's a lottery, history shows that the best players generally come from the top twenty.

Great to see Liam Ryan get his chance at AFL with the Eagles. Thoroughly deserved and good luck to him. Also fantastic for Tim Kelly being picked up by the Cats. Also to young West Aussie guys Aaron Naughton, Wil Powell, Oscar Allan, Sam Taylor and Brayden Ainsworth to round off a bumper crop of West Aussies in the top 32 picks
