Personally, I thought that neither were a serious chance of heading West - especially Lobb, who is at a team well in contention for the premiership in the future.

Hogan can probably see more upside in the Demons even though you wouldn't expect the Dockers to be lurking down with the Lions for long.

Further more, neither have committed to long term contracts. Both Freo and WC will go hard on them by the end of 2018 when they have a year to run on their contracts and perhaps free agency comes into play. But anything can happen between now and then. Either player could get a serious injury who knows what Freo and WC pick up between now and then.
