Local Media will be awash with AFL from here on in, with both local mobs in the top 4, WAFL wont get any oxygen.

There is potential for a Derby GF...Will it happen?

The top 4 is pretty much locked in now, Dorkers v Swans and Eagles v Hawkers.

Ross the Boss will do his usual and rest up players int he last week, he has that luxury again.

The Hawks and Swans look at a very tough road to GF if they lose week 1 , meaning they will have to travel to Perth twice to get into a GF.

Anythoughts on who will win week one. both locals teams have had mixed form, I put no weight in the win v Melbourne and the Eagles thrashing v The Crows , is it a real indication of eagles form? I don't think so.

I think there are some very dangerous teams in the 5 - 8 places who could go on a run if they get a bit of momentum. I think the Qualifying final teams playing in the first week need to keep this in mind because if they lose they will have to take on the Doggies, Crows, Roos or Tigers who are all really good on their day. Having said that I still think the premiership will be won by a team in the top 4 because having a week off is priceless in a tough finals series.

Yep I think Adelaide and to a lesser extent Richmond are dangerous.

Imo home finals are the key.

Adelaide and Richmond will be great on there home decks,AO and the MCG.
Just like the Bulldogs at Ethiad.
Trouble is these teams will probably only get 1 home final before the GF.

The only 2 teams that i could see winning away from there home grounds in a big final are Sydney and Hawthorn.
You just can dismiss the Hawks, they will be the hardest to crack.

If the Eagles and Freo win there first home finals that imo spells trouble for the remaining teams.

They did einstein in Adelaide.

To back up what im saying re home final is Adelaides 2 big scalps Eagles and Richmond were at AO.
There other wins in the past 6 weeks have been against Brisbane,Essendon and the Gold Coast and Port.

the more I look at it, the more I am certain it will be a derby GF this year.

tonights game will see two tired sides take on the Dockers next week, who will be fresh, despite questions over their scoring capacity they will be confident. Whilst I hope North can beat Sydney, next week will be a stretch for either side. I am more confident North can beat the Eagles than the Swans. But boy it will be tough.

A derby GF. Horror times for Victoria.
