Banana skin game this one for Swans. If they bring their A game they should win easily but supporters know that they sometimes come into matches like this with less than the required intensity and attitude. Last time we played Perth, we were very lucky to get over the line, a kick after the siren by Jared Cameron sealing a win.
Perth will see this game as their best remaining chance of securing a win in 2023 so they will be up for it.
Looks like a few showers on the day but hopefully shouldn't impact too much on the quality of the footy.

With the season long gone in terms of a finals spot it has been a credit to the team to play with a clear determination in recent wins against WP, Subi and South and to a lesser extent against WC.

I stated in a previous thread a few weeks ago that the team needed to embrace a more attacking approach in the remaining games with the idea of implementing a more competitive game style next year and not be so reliant on restricting the opposition, more about us scoring than stopping them score while still having a fundamentally strong defensive profile.

Hopefully we can build on last week and then head in to the remaining 2 games looking to upset a couple of contenders.

Trevor Nisbett in his interview the other day mentioned that Nic Nat may end up joining Shuey and Hurn in retiring from the AFL.

If Natanui does pull the pin, how good would it be if he could come back and play a season for Swans (injury permitting)?  His presence around the club would be great for the young players and it would be a boon for the WAFL competition as a whole because I'm sure the crowds would flock in to see him.

I notice that Sam Fisher is an inclusion in the reserves team after being sidelined for most of the season. Not sure if he would be able to qualify for reserves finals by playing 3 games or he might just be having a run with a view to a return to league next week. Seems a bit pointless putting himself at risk for that though

Fairly much a carbon copy of last weeks game vs SF.
We dominate the play but poor ball use keeps the opposition in the match which they gleefully accept, before finally shaking them off in the last qtr.

Yep just about a replica of last week, Pretty sloppy performance up till the last quarter. Perth had a real crack though to their credit and really till about 10 mins into the last quarter still had a chance.
A win is a win though and that makes it 7 out of the last 9 games for Swans. Only East Fremantle and East Perth have matched this record over the past 9 rounds.

The next 2 weeks is an opportunity for Swans to beat a couple of finalists and round off the season in style.

One definite change for next year will be to replace Braydon Noble who will retire in a couple of weeks according to 91.3fm. He has been one of our most consistent and reliable players and asked to fill a lot of positions around the ground. especially in the ruck. Hopefully Phil Smart and Andrew Pruyn found some good recruits on their trip to Melbourne a couple of weeks ago.

Hoping Swans don't have any more retirements, players moving on/ away etcetera. Would be great to see the current playing group stay on. There will be the usual few off season additions, players elevated from the ressies & colts like there always is.
They been playing well in the second half of this season. Currently won 7 of their last 9 matches. That will give them some confidence to carry into season 24.
