for those who knock the AFL standard, today's match against Collingwood was a superb example of how AFL football should be played. Not like the crap the WAFL dishes up but CLASS. Collingwood brag about having the best ruck & best defence plus brilliant midfielders.
The Eagles wiped them with toilet paper in an inspired example of AFL football. A brilliant exhibition of classic play.. Long live the AFL & the Eagles. AMEN

Most of the game was played in a frenetic fashion. Very good standard compared with what we Have had dished up to us so far this year.

Have you disowned the Bumbers LS?

Ok the Eagles looked a million dollars. How do you think they would have faired without their two best mids (Shuey and Kelly) and their best goal kicking forward (Kennedy)?

Eagles were without McGovern, that's Jeremy Howe like for like. Collingwood have lost Jordon DeGoey, Steele Sidebottom and Scott Pendlebury. Just saying.

Jeez Grundy had an off day, Even though their stats are similar I thought Naitanui destroyed him, and even Oscar Allen arguably had the better of him.

I think everyone realizes your point DD, but the old adage that you can only beat the team out there....yada yada yada. And maybe the Wobblers haven’t recovered from the fact that they have to leave the mcg for more that a few hours once a year!!!!
Geelong next week, so that will be a test as to where they are at.

It was the best performance so far this season by a team. Pretty scary performance. After the first quarter Collingwood were completely outclassed, Grundy didn't have an off day, he was simply dominated by a better midfield combination.

Tim Kelly's work below his knees is extraordinary.

Didnt the Wiggles win a flag on Collingwood's home ground with Naitanui, Sheppard & Gaff all out?

Actually one of their better players was ex Claremont boy Darcy Cameron. He has taken a while to find his feet in the AFL but he looked the goods didn’t he both taking grabs and kicking goals and as a back up to Grundy.

Cameron will be a big asset to the Pies in the years ahead, I hope the Eagles are planning ahead with an eye out for a quality 2nd ruckman. Oscar Allen is a born CHF real quality player who also happens to be a good support ruckman and should go to CHF when JK hangs them up, Darling at FF, so we will need another ruckman in the next year or so.

Bailey Williams showed a fair bit for their Ressies team last year, has a huge leap and still only 20!
