My next question is why should these intruders intrude?

Ponder this, if they don't play for points and a chance to play in the finals then all of the games are dead rubbers and the rest of the teams will just field the also rans and allow players to get hurt. In that scenario the competition becomes a farce and if that is the case for the weagles then it should be the same for crabs.

If you truly want the WAFL to progress this is a solution, albeit not the best, but one that will perhaps that we survive for another 10 years!
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Thanks Grump.

We need to get the rules right otherwise it may be a long time before anybody else wins a GF.

The sad part is that the WAFL doesn't care about an even competition.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

I think you're spot on DF. The WAFC just sees the WAFL comp as a support mechanism for the 2 AFL clubs. 1987 was the year the WAFL as it was, started a slow lingering death.

Once again BC, 2013 was by design as Randall was vying for a position at the WAFC and clearly instructed the club not to recruit until he got the nod.

My tips:
Subi: streets ahead of their nearest rival and very likely another undefeated season.
Clare: Unlucky to lose close games last year and should improve
Peel: Subject to injuries in the Freo seniors, should have a large number of experienced Dockers available. Building a core of experienced non AFL (not local...) to complement Dockers
SF: Lost a lot of class and experience but have enough left to be in the mix.
WP: Didn't lose too much from last year and always seem to be competitive
P: Seems off-season gains do little more than replace losses so likely to win 6-8 games
EF: Should improve but coming off a very low base
SD: Will struggle
EP: Will pay for their betrayal by hopefully being rubbish for many years to come
WC: Barely competitive.

Subiaco, South Fremantle, Claremont, Peelmantle, Swans

East Perth, Perth, East Fremantle, Fledglings, West Perth.

The first 5 are just going to a bit stronger than the rest, EF may push up Swans may fallout. Claremont look like continuing their improvement with the crabs having a predominate dorker line up again, it will be hard for the others to match the 14 on any given day as they seem to play better than we ever got from the WCE.

EP and Perth may do ok, WP I think will suffer a little from the issues off the field more than they did this season.

WP last :P  :P ;)

That sounds like total rubbish from someone who is clearly bitter and twisted.

The club also finished 7th in 2012 so what was going on then? Kevin Merrifield running for President of the USA?

I've seen the point a couple of times that the Sharks will improve, but still finish fairly low on the ladder because they're "coming off a low base". Just because they've had a few annus horribilus years, doesn't automatically mean they will struggle to play finals. New coach, new players and probably new resolve. I'm not saying they will go last to first, but they should realistically have their eyes set on that 5th spot.
