Read somewhere that the WAFC are pleased with the “brilliant” start to the season. The AFL tinker with their setup to make the comp a close one, which has worked in the past. What does the WAFC do? Sit back and watch the state league crash and burn while they pick up their fat pay checks. I don’t like picking out Subi because they are one of the G7. But listening to an interview yesterday, the fact that they have been given a huge advantage that no other club has had was dismissed as a non event. It’ll get worse. When the Eagles release their reserves and they become East Perth again, they’ll have a Subi like bank account and start buying flags as both Freo and Subi have. I’m like some others here am wondering why I keep following the WAFL. It’ll get to a point where following an AFL side will be more rewarding.

I have almost reached the end of my tether with respect to following Swans. The last straw SHOULD be when the WAFC make the decision that all colts' games will be played at one venue.

They would fit in well with that joker running the country Malcom Turnbull who said a royal commission into the banking sector was UNNECESSARY and RECKLESS.

The AFL takeover of the colts is a disaster for the Wafl clubs. The comp all about the city and country zones.Colts-Ressies- League.

Gavin Taylor versus Malcolm Turnbull? What a choice.

I challenge any person (AND YES THAT INCLUDED YOU GAVIN TAYLOR) to come up with any decision that the WAFC has made in the last 10 years that has actually improved the WAFL as opposed to negatively impacting the WAFL.

Over to you Gavin Taylor: have the guts to explain how any of those decisions have helped the WAFL.

PS John Townsend we all know you take an active interest on this site. Perhaps you can let Gavin Taylor know about this challenge in case Gavin Taylor is a bit shy of admitting to reading posts on this site.

PPS A second challenge to Gavin Taylor and the WAFC get put of your ivory tower and come and talk to and LISTEN to the supporters of the WAFL Ask about HOW WE FEEL about the host club alignment. Ask HOW WE FEEL about what is happening with Subiaco. Ask US to RATE yours and the WAFC's performances. Ask US about what we think of Thursday night WAFL footy. And those of you who think Thursday night footy is good for the WAFL spend a Thursday working with a tradie, doing what they have to do to earn a living, then front up to a "bring your mouthguards' training, and then go do what a tradie has to do on the Friday AND THEN ask yourselves whether Thursday night WAFL footy is a good idea.

Is going to most interesting to keep an eye on the other thread.
I for one will be eagerly awaiting any forthcoming comments.
Given the Wafl is basically gone and may or may not last another 5 years, should be of the utmost importance to try and save it! Then again the so called commission have probably thrown it in the too hard basket. What makes me really angry is the once fantastic Wafl competition has been allowed to degenerate to such an extent in our generation.
I only hope the Wafl can survive, but have a feeling is going to be a monumental task. Will need a lot of support to do so. Currently the support is simply not there. Not sure where the support will come from?
Is the so called commission really interested? Are their media statements honest or just trying to make themselves look good?
Will be interesting to see the mechanism/ s put in place to stop the Wafl from going under. Now is the time for drastic action.
