Can anyone remember a WAFL season so boring and so little interest on a football forum? I can't. Even less interesting now with the two alignments I'm pretty sure EP and Peel have played in 3 out of the last 4 grand finals since the alignments began and Subiaco playing in and winning 2 of the last 3 grand finals. It's all just too predictable and it looks like a 3 horse race between Subi (again), SF and the Fremantle reserves.

And unless someone is fudging the figures I would guess the crowds are at an all time low never seen before.

I noticed after I got back from OS that there had been hardly any activity on the site, few posts , its been pretty dead tbh. Normally there is a political debate going at least for a few laughs, even they are non existent.
Can understand a Perth supporter being bored, but its pretty much business as usual for you guys, not much excuse across the board though, its odd.
Was hard not to notice the very old age demographic at the WP v SF game last Saturday reckon the average age of those attending from both clubs was 65. WAFL fans disappearing quick.

I'm not sure I agree DD given the re-emergence of SD, the obvious quality Souths have to offer, FART the unknown quantity...it all makes for a pretty interesting finals series for mine. I just wish the WAFC would make some concessions to Perth and EF to bring them back into the picture...be it increased salary limit or raising the player points or both.

Bazza I believe this is a footy forum so I am not sure why you would think there would be political debate on here.

I think it is looking like a 2 horse race - and not boring if you are Subi or Souths. From my point of view being East Freo it is not boring - it is harrowing. But hope springs eternal - that is human nature. I still go to all the Sharks games, hopefully we can upset the apple cart at some stage. I will go to the finals too because i prefer the WAFL and its supporters. I will go to watch them and the good kick (and barrack for whoever plays the chunder).

Gee's DD you are only 12 months late on this topic mate!
2016 was the most boring WAFL season in history with the smallest attendances since WWII.
There has actually been an improvement in the numbers through the gate this year and that is despite the WP Pommy day being rained out which made last years poor numbers look actually better than they really were.
I think 2016 was also one of the lowest scoring years in history as well where my guess is there has been an improvement in 2017?

Well i can tell you I've never seen so little interest on the Perth board and we are always bottom 3 thereabouts. WP supporters I thought they were quiet last year but they have taken it to another level this year. Claremont haven't given a yelp, EF and Perth are pathetic, I don't think any die hard Swans fans think they are a serious contender despite the improvement on last year. EP supporters just can't wait to see the end of the alignment. Souths are the only shining light and good luck to them and who really wants to see $ubiaco and Peelmantle winning another flag?

The WAFL is Fucked.

The WAFL is alive while we old suckers are alive. What happens then? Anyway, from and East Freo supporter's point of view - hope springs eternal!!!

Can it get worse than hoping South win the Flag?

Have to agree with you DD on the quietness of the boards, never seen them so slow at this time of the year, Perth normally one of the busy ones was always an enigma full of self actualisation on the clubs situation, but even that as you say has slowed down, WP really has dried up along with the rest. Not much chat anywhere else Tipping still bobs up but , I notice a massive drop in the numbers participating as well.
Although I can see BC's point , there are a few clubs including mine , my feeling is come finals time when Peel get a heap of dorks back the comp will be one way traffic, tbh there are probably only 3 clubs really in the race S SF and Peel - so yes its a snore fest if your outside of that mob.
Bottom line is there would only be 10,000 genuine WAFL fans left in the state, if that, its not the end of the WAFL , its not the beginning of the end , that started in about 1985, but we are at about the 16 minute mark of the last 1/4.

What happened to the attendance thread for this year? where are we at for that?

btw DD at least thanks for this post - you got a bit of activity happening!
