The week 22 of Wafl Fixtures is the lowest for over 10 years which is sad to say. Have been hoping for increased attendances in the second half of the season, which has not eventuated! There will now need to be approx. Thirty eight thousand people attend the four final qualifying matches this coming weekend. That is what’s required to bring the total qualifying round attendances up to the same figure as last season. Which will be highly unlikely. Also need to remember last season’s total crowd numbers were bad too.

What are the actual figures and how do they compare to previous lows?

All round 22 attendances (only since 1997 has there been a round 22)

Ever get the feeling this Review by this the mob from a Boston Sports Consultancy Group(heaven help us,if they're buddies of Fenway Sports Group) is a Stitch up job from the Bloody WAFC?

No chance of a Review into their Pisspoor Promotion of the WAFL is there?

Perhaps if this review is done openly,we might get the Blowtorch applied to the 1st Class TWITS in the WAFC Executive, but there's ZERO Chance of that,is there?!Not one bit!

Any chance of the WAFC, AFL, State Govt, Relevant Local Govt all chipping in to resurface and do some long overdue drainage works on all of the WAFL grounds over the off season?
The wet Winter we have experienced has really shown up how badly maintained they have been for some time and they all need some money spent on to get them up to an acceptable playing standard!

Theres no quick fix for Swan Districts the rebuild of the side will take a few years.Unless big changes are made at the club.East Perths crowds wont get back to the 3,500 home games till the alignment ends.West Perth and SFreo crowds are also disapointing in 16.Lets hope Perth continue to improve next year.
Other factors like the wettest winter in 20 years. The Afl expansion means an extra Saturday AFL game that clashes with traditional Wafl fixtures.Another factor is you can guarantee the 2 alignment sides will make the finals or be close to the top5.That hurts the competition also.
Theres still time to fix the Wafl but time is running out.My view still is a night time summer competition.Done by the A League to aviod the dominant winter codes.

All valid reasons GTR but you mi$$ed another big reason that has left traditional WAFL fans completely disenchanted with the competition after 30 years of dominance!

Good points GTR but can the WAFL really be fixed? We all hope it can bounce back but the money is drying up to the point clubs are in survival mode. In five or ten years who are the new supporters that will passionately follow this level of sport.
