Why is that now a thing of the past! abc radio refuses to broadcast Wafl matches anymore which kills interest for rural people! Fairly sure no radio broadcast again this week either?!
It's enough to make one cry.

The reality is that most people are eagles , dockers or afl followers now mate, that is a reality of it, the focus of the media goes to where the public interest is, that is what people want to know about, with more afl teams playing more games its getting harder and harder to get air time for wafl games.

as the older generation of wafl followers continue to drift away so does the wafl fan base.

wafl needs an urgent revamp, lets hope the current review comes up with some good ideas and not just the same boring old ideas from boring old men trapped in the past...

Then what?Cater to audiences that give the competition scant regard anyway, they jump on,then jump off, when the novelty wears off?No thanks!

All the more reason to turf the AFL Clubs out of the WAFL,Bazza.

As I predicted, their presence in the Competition isn't doing the WAFL any favours.Having their own side in the Competition WILL be THE END!

If this bloody WAFC did it''s job properly,it would promote the Competition to the Absolute MAXIMUM!

They'd get a better TV Deal which is CRAP and you know it!

They'd tell the AFL to bloody Jump when required, instead of weakly Crawling up their Arse!

They'd give it to Fitzpatrick BIG TIME who really has forgotten where he comes from.Eagles and Dockers fans don't seem to recall he comes from WA.Fancy that! :woohoo:

1. The Alignment his here to stay. because the eagles and dockers ( I hate both of them for it) get what they want..like it or hate it..they have the money , they call the shots.
2. What sort of promotion are you talking?? TV Adds, free give aways?? Adds at half time of Eagles and Dockers games...?? its all been done.
3. Err no, the TV deal is what it is, nobody wanted to pay us - we had to pay them as the product is not in demand. that's called market forces.
4. Tell the AFL to jump ,,err Sounds great . just one small issue - how do we fund our clubs money wise??..you got a few mill to chip in personally?? re players draft funds, alignment cash and footy dividends??? GINA maybe lol....???-

We need new ideas - not fantasy.

1 - If it here to stay,we are Dead anyway.I'd like the Club Presidents and Boards to put the Blackmail money aside and Turf them out.We got rid of them after 2003,so to them I say,Do It Again!

2 - Yes TV Ads,Radio,Newspaper,Internet,Facebook.Promote the Rivalries,History, reduce the admission prices.Stop sitting on your Arse Murray and Co and Fucking well DO SOMETHING!

3 - Market Forces? On their scale,we don't really Rate at all.51 000?Please Bazza, that's grounds for Dumping a Program. Why are they Really here Bazza.Step up Channel 9 and Get the Glory!Go on,Bazza reckons the WAFC will be fair to all offers,so give us an offer worth taking up and show 7 up,for the Stingy Bastards they are!

4 - Yes,tell 'Em to Jump! The WAFC Still Own the 2 AFL Licences here, which the AFL Apparrently craves after, but for some reason, haven't come over the Top to Buy the Licences Out.Now why would that be?Try a Greater Aggenda with the 2 AFL Clubs here,I bet!

The AFL gives us bugger all anyway,so shy not ask Gina?Or a few Chinese Mining Companies. If it's good enough for the Major Political Parties to get into bed with them, why the hell not us?

5 - If we get some Super Legal Brains,I say it's high time we challenge the Draft system and tear it to pieces! If the AFL keep backing us in a corner, determined to kill Valued Parts of Aussie Rules Footy,I say Fuck 'em!

Sue the Pants off 'em by Destroying the Draft System!

I am fed up to the Back teeth of the WAFC allowing us to be bent over backwards by those ARSEHOLES of the AFL!It's time for the WAFC to combine with the WAFL Clubs, like the SANFL with their's and start pushing the Dictatorial Bastards Back!

As for West Coast and Fremantle, whose side are you on!You're supporters always go crook at the AFL,claiming the AFL is screwing you!But what they don't realise is that, their beloved clubs are really in Bed with the AFL Executive, whilst you take a little short term pain(Ha,if you know what that really us!),whilst doing the AFL's Dirty Work for them,in Screwing us over!!!!!

For so called WESSSTTERRN AUSTRALIANS,you should hang your heads in SHAME!You too should TELL the AFL to Fuck off and do their own Dirty Work! You might get a bit more of a working relationship with us if you do that! But would you now?'I'm not holding my breath!

Wheres the money coming from?

Well, not enough is coming from the WAFC and the AFL,Bazza. So you are more than welcome to assist the WAFL Council of Presidents,in any way possible.

If we start from Scratch,so be it.It's better than being Bent over than those 2 Bodies, supposedly "responsible" for Aussie Rules Football in WA.

I ask again Grassy, how will you fund your "tell them to shove it" campaign with the WAFC??

Its your plan not mine! Do you have the $??

Ark Ep do have good sponsors.CH7,West Australian Newspaper and of coarse AHG.Interesting WP have Channel9 and Sunday Times.
Know heaps of Royal supporters that use to go to every home game before the alignment. There average home crowd was around 3,500 three years back. They have had at least 4 home games this year under 1,000 fans. That also has to greatly affect the members base however the Alignment has massive finincial benefits to EP.

gtrxuone: thanks a lot -- the one positive from the 'alignment' is that, as a result of the money made, EP should be able to stand on it own two feet after the agreement expires. We shall have to see. If that is the case, I hope their supporters drift back to the club.

In fairnes to the President hes been using his own money for years at East Perth. The alignment from the WAFC point of view has two WAFL clubs looked after money wise. But im not sure if Peel has yet to announce a profit under the alignment.Dont think the alignment has delivered on field for EP(yet) but got Peel of the bottom of the ladder.Good for Peel that way.

If they have drifted away they are not supporters.Took their bat and ball and stormed out.

Chadd +Ark.Asked Grump a few weeks back who knows a lot about the EP Junior Zones..Ellenbrook looks like a real winner for EP.Add that strong South West Zone they should have no problem being competitive post the alignment.

I've got to say Chaddy that it's everyone to their own but after witnessing Peel and EP fans cheering for their respective teams even though they were predominantly aligned players I too would drop Subi like a hot spud if they signed up at some point...and I've been following them for over 50 years. It almost beggars belief that supporters would cheer on players that have to be there because they can't get a game with the top team rather than because they want to play WAFL. If Subi aligned themselves then that would be it for me.

It would take a lot for me to give up totally on SFFC, I would still feel an affinity with the club regardless of what they did structure wise. I guess that what true loyalty is all about - tbh even if they merged I would stick with the residual club, you have to have a Saturday arvo footy interest and if there was a lineage there I would stick with it.

Given the attendances at the WAFL games this year it may be appropriate to rename this thread "WAFL gatherings"

Bc most of your players are not local juniors but imports in $ubi jumpers.I have been thru worse. The mid to late eighties when both the royals and perth were supposed to get a great deal by relocating to the Waca and ended up a flop.Getting belted and hardly winning any games in that period. The amount of times we had thirty goals kicked against us in that period.Players leaving a sinking ship.Nearly going under in 1990.At least I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.Trust me it is about the money.I decided to stay and support by being a member paying for membership which included season pass and give a donation because in the end you have two choices stay and help your club to get to a finacially secure position or try to destroy it.
