We can moan all we like about how much money west coast - and to a lesser but growing extent fremantle - have, but the fact is they are massively popular clubs with sold out everything so they are bound to be loaded financially. For me it all comes back to the ridiculous amounts of money one wafl club make from these two clubs. If only a bit of that money could have been directed towards all clubs rather than just one over the last twenty years it would make a handy difference towards clubs finances. I reckon in terms of costs and profits subi are probably actually wealthier than the eagles, and subi supporters can again give us all those reasons why this is totally fair, but I reckon that has been the major flaw inour states football model.

There is no way in the world Subi would have more money than WCE, WCE had 45 Million in the bank last year and that was before they made the GF, on average they make 2.5 Mill a Year profit, it would of been higher last year.

My understanding is Subi have 2 Mill in the Bank.

to be perfectly honest...what should have happened back in 2004 when Subi moved to Leederville is the WAFC purchased Subi's social premises and ran the AFL match day functions for the benefit of all WAFL clubs and divided any profits equally. that would have made more sense to me than one club reaping all the coin.

bazza - read my post, not saying subi have more money than eagles I'm talking in costs and margins and stuff. Eagles have to pay their players twelve million a year, when you compare profits to costs I reckon subis margins are probably much better

Mate, Subi spend a fair bit on staff, wages and admin costs , but being smart they share oval facilities, a lot of clubs should learn from that.

Hear hear!! But WAFL clubs have been copping up the rear for 30 years now as the two AFL teams forget where they came from, its a disgrace, but we are all a minority of dinosaurs unfortunately :(
