heave ho! ( with crabs )

I started supporting Swan Districts in the 1960s and I will continue to support them for the rest of my life.

It is completely farcical that anyone can suggest that the Peel Football Club will make the finals in the WAFL league this year. Have a look at where the Peel ressies' team is when they have had 10 - 16 Fremantle players playing in the Peel jumper in the league for most games this year.

Get with the mighty Mandurah Dockers Swan, all aboard the mighty Purple Train, those big end of town AFL corporates know best Swan, the freo dockers the AFL club that "cares".

Heave Ho way to Go Freo!

It is possible to be more delusional like when you call your club West Perth and your based 30ks away and about 15 suburbs away. When you call yourself East Perth and Subiaco and are based at Leederville. That's delusional. Those clubs don't represent anything or anywhere by name and they also get all their players from somewhere else. At least Peel are based in their own area and represent their own area and the 140 odd players ( including district teams)who pull on the Peel jumper know that. So what if we get a handful of players from somewhere else. The aforementioned clubs get all their players from somewhere else . The Peel area is the fastest growing area in Australia so thankfully the WAFC have the fantastic foresight to back the club as they know the area will be a powerhouse for football in the future.

The initial decision was prostituted in the first instance due to the Perth President not voting according to his board's decision. How many AFL aligned players played for Peel last week end? How many juniors from the Peel area played league last week end. Hardly a handful. How long has Peel been in the competition and during that time when were they a powerhouse?

Also, I have NEVER nor will I ever be a West Perth supporter. The team I support is Swan Districts. Have a look at where on the ladder is the Peel reserves?

EF reserves are no better than Peels 42.....what point are you making about Peels reserves?.....pretty sure SD reserves were just as shite a few years back when you had the likes of non locals in Roach, Geappen, Twomey, Hansen, Hildebrandt, Davis Riggio, Williams et al clogging up SD local development........and we all know the reason why SD decided to change tack in regards to development dont we mate?........I am all for keeping the AFL boys local......just give up the draft fee you got for them and pay their wages instead of Freo......cant have it both ways mate.....

It is pretty simple the point I am making Freezin. When you have 10 to 16 AFL aligned players playing league for Peel, then 10 to 16 players play who would normally have played league end up playing in the reserves. Given the fact that Peel reserves have won about 2 games this season under those circumstances how can anyone suggest that it is a legitimate Peel team making the finals this year?

As for the latter half of your posting it lacks any degree of logic.

First Bolter, good to hear from a Peel supporter as we have not had many contributing over the few years that this forum has been going. I think it's important to have a diversity of views even though we may not agree with all of them.
I agree with you that the Peel area is fast growing and needs a strong football representation in the district.

What I don't understand and maybe you can enlighten me on this from the point of view of a Peel supporter is how the current alignment with the Fremantle Dockers contributes to the development of footy in the Peel District particularly in relation to the opportunities afforded to talented young players in the district who have aspirations to play at the highest level.

To me as an outsider the Peel league team is consistently stocked up with 14 - 16 Dockers players so with the other ex AFL recruits and players from other WAFL clubs it would appear that only the very best locals would be considered every week? This is how it appears to me but I am happy to hear an alternative view.

True my comments may lack logic but the only logic I see from you mate is one totally blinkered with your beloved SD interests at heart ....42 you are only pissed at this alignment deal because SD dont get to keep their local boys drafted by either Freo or WCE.....if Pearce, Hughes, Newman and Blakely were suiting up for SD most weeks instead of Peel / EP you wouldnt be so anti alignment at all.....we get it .......SDFC produced these kids and if they are going to play WAFL than it should be with SD and only SD.........as much as SD wish to keep a hold on to their local produce they spent hours and money nuturing for their own gain, Freo/WCE want to control the on field direction of the players they pay vast amounts of money to.......it is a stalemate.....the alignment is what it is....

......and no I am not an alignment lover, EF have been stung the most since this alignment has been concocted.....Griffen kicking 3 goals in Peels recent 4 goal victory over EF was frustrating to see.....but until the AFL fund a reserves comp separate from the WAFL, SANFL and VFL I am not too sure where else these AFL "in waiting" players go and play footy......can you?

Freezin if we didn't have such a GUTLESS and SPINELESS WAFC then the host club alignment would not have happened. It is complete and utter nonsense that the only way for AFL aligned players to be developed is for them to be in a host club alignment. It completely destroys the integrity of the WAFL competition; something which you would think the WAFC would hold dear to their hearts and to be the raison d'etre for their very existence.

What sort of competition will we be if come WAFL GF and "Peel" have made it and Freo are in the AFL GF and Freo hold back 5-10 AFL aligned players from a Sunday WAFL GF?

Yep, the finals is where the boys from the peel and east perth zones may get their best opportunities for a game. How's the irony in that.
Ryan Crowley may also make his peel debut in September.
