1:- Jarrhan Jacky has been cleared back to Subiaco from Peel for $10 000.00 but won't be fit to play until mid-season on recovery from a knee reco

2:- Officials at all G7 clubs have been given & asked to fill out a survey on the alignment - it is expected that it will be blasted as unacceptable and that EP sever it's ties with the WCE - WCE to form it's own WAFL side & Frematle FC to take over Mandurah with Peel to cease trading

3:- 7mate is keen on replicating the SANFL setup here in WA , but probably only 2 venues will get coverage according to Chris Wharton of Ch7.

I heard this was happening . Maybe FINALLY the Wafl and the clubs have seen the light. If they get a deal with 7mate or 7two they must get the model right first. Otherwise it won't sustain or work. Get everything right by getting WestCoast a stand alone side, Fremantle take over Peel completely and have a 10 team comp.

I don't know about this 2 grounds only thing, looks likely Leederville and Fremantle Oval. Or perhaps that WACA model will be pushed through now. Interesting times.

I prey the ABC are considered still, given their 27 years of loyalty. And I prey this turn of events gives East Perth back to us. I can't wait 5 years.

Unfortunately the WAFL slogan 'we've never done it before so why start now' is in full effect. 7 want to cover the games from one or two grounds to save on set up costs, they can leave equipment at grounds and don't need to pay staff from 6am to 7pm. So clubs will be asked to move home games.

Most clubs agree for the good the comp. There are those that don't care. To me if you don't want to make sacrifice then your club gets no exposure at all for home or away games.

What I definitely read out of that Barn & Jards is that 7mate & probably the WAFC want double headers or AFL curtain raisers
Definitely curtain raisers I'd say

They don't want curtain raisers, they want the WAFL coverage to lead into the AFL coverage. WAFL games delayed on tv that finish when on tv when the Saturday night AFL games starts.

For example the WAFL game runs from 3pm to 5:30pm, then the AFL from 5:30pm to 9pm.

The WAFL game coverage will have no half time break, just an ad break in between. That means there is no extra costs producing a 30 minute half time segment every week.

I think most of us would agree with number 2?

It's better than nothing, the current situation can't go on, the comp is dying. Hopefully interest will pick up.
Question, with two grounds used for TV coverage, what happens with around the ground signage, ie, who gets the money from the sponsorship? Could be unfair advantage $$$$$wise.

exactly, you would hope there would be appropriate compensation to clubs for this. if only leederville and freo ovals are used it will mean subi, east Perth and south would get the most tv games no matter how you do the fixturing

That suggests silly 7 will not be broadcasting the Wafl live? But instead we'll get a crappy delayed telecast  :(
In this day and age, why should we put up with that? Does that mean other sports broadcasts are going to be delayed too?
Really, really, really, really and really hoping the Wafl can stay on abc tv because they've consistently done a fantastic effort each week.

all the clubs should have allowed this to happen in the first place.someone mentioned to me that east perth and one other club voted for the stand alone teams but obviously vested interests wanted to keep the status quo.as far as i am concerned once the eagles&dockers draft someone they are their players and if they want stand alone teams let them have it.it will be fairer fo all eight traditional teams when they all don't have any afl listed players provided they get the financial backing from the wafc.Let's hope it happens next year.at least then we won't have any byes.also if peel become a proper dockers team and lose their zones the eight other clubs will have more juniors.
