A/man is a Peel supporter; oops I mean Freo Reserves' team supporter!!!!!

The so-called logic behind establishing a club down there was to tap into that public sector. Harness new interest and talent. That is a failure on both fronts. Now aligning with Freo completely defeats the purpose of why the Peel Football Club were initiated in the first place. And anyone with a shred of marketing sense (a non-existent quality of anyone in the WAFC) they would have named the club Mandurah. Something people there connect with better. Its like the AFL idiots with GWS. Unless they market them as West or Western Sydney, nobody there will connect with them. As a result there is a loser mentality and a mindset of inferiority across the board.

The fact is its the most diabolical and monumental mistake in the history of WA football. And the authorities have had a few chances to rewrite a wrong, and still they sat there like stale bottles of piss. I think those who gave it the green light 19 years ago must ashamed of themselves. Or are they all so far away from it these days they are drinking cocktails in the Bahamas.

So very frustrating for true WAFL people who have better judgement than bean counters running/ruining the whole joint. We repeat ourselves I know, but bugger it.

Isn't the Peel Football Club one of the self-claimed greatest achievements of Grant Dorrington?

There was a fellow when this site first opened that was prepared to post every week and all he got was abuse.

Any regular reader or poster is aware that a good 50% of the posters here are viscous or bullies about other teams and posters - it's a fact that the ones who remain see that trait as not being offensive enought to stop writing or severe enough to take them as personal truths but rather objects for humorous retort

Im a Swan Districts and Freo fan. If I cant attend the swans game - I always check the stats of swans game but then always check the Peel stats for freo players.
I see Peel live when they come to Basso but thats it.
I wouldnt go out of my way to watch Peel even if my fav Freo players were playing to be honest and my young sons do not have any alliance to Peel even if Freo players are playing.
It confuses them.
Im sure they have lost some supporters by aligning with Freo and they could ill afford to do that.
It doesnt help that they have been unsuccessful for the best part of 20 years but I genuinely hope they do better this year and beyond.

The Freo alignment defeats the purpose of the whole set up of the club initially but now they are slightly more relevant to me.

As I said on the other thread PN, we don't know if the Freo players, particularly the established guys are under orders to just play one half to keep them fresh for the first AFL game next week. If Barlow, Duffield and Pearce are withdrawn at half time, that leaves one player on their interchange bench on a hot day. If this happens West Perth will run all over them. A similar thing happened last year at Bassendean I recall when Swans came back from a big deficit against Peel on a hot day.
