I think that we have to feel a little empathy towards Bairstow as well because his dad commited suicide when he was a kid and that would have been really tough on him I should imagine.

Think Bancroft couldn't understand what Bairstow was saying more like Anchor....I lived in Leeds for a few years and the Yorkshire accent is a killer on pronouncing your vowels! Gamesmanship at its best here, did the job no doubt....these onfield microphones are a pain in the arse....what is said out there should be heard by no one but the players...its part and parcel of sport a bit of chat....the public/media don't need to hear it...its got nothing to do with them come end of the day...

One mistake and I am sure that all would be forgiven now.

Paine has not cemented his spot through one regulation stumping, and what a controversial one it was. I thought the review was inconclusive, it didn't clearly show any of his foot behind the line so therefore the batsman Ali was rightly given out I reckon.

Surely you are TTP!!!! Inconclusive!!!! Didn't clearly show his foot behind the line!!!! So how can it be inconclusive?
Out seven days a week and on Sunday as well.
Regulation stumping!!!! you really are TTP.Listen to the experts and what they are saying.
Nobody has said he has cemented his place, but gee he looked better than the other two candidates.
Sour grapes TOO.

No not sour grapes Anchor I barrack for Australia mate and hope Paine does really well but that will not change my position on Nevill not getting the opportunity and I don't agree with your claim that Paines dropped catch off Lyon and the tougher miss down legside is forgiven because he performed a stumping!
And not taking the piss calling the review inconclusive, the pictures showed his foot may have been behind the line, or it may not have, you call it what you want

I wish he would bat a bit more in the mould of Boycott -- was'nt he out to the ramp shot in Ashes Test Match with his side under the pump?

gtr: it is a great story about Braod and Prior, the report in the paper suggestted that the bloke was in a bad place at the time. I am unsure, but I think I read Broad has had someone close pass away from sucide -- very sad indeed.

Just visiting family .......... apparently.

But thought he might have a knock in the nets while he was there, so bought his entire stash of cricket gear with him.

Adelaide Oval is ideally situated mate close to the city let's hope our new Perth Stadium has the same effect over here from next year.

I am heading over there for Days 2 and 3 and I'm looking forward to it immensely. I have never been to a sporting event at the Adelaide Oval and it should be a great experience.
