Just thought I'd have a crack at a team for 2014 ???
Nothing too serious just thought I'd get the Subi members going - Feel free for any changes or re-arranges

Who gets a game should be on pre-season fitness and scratch match form followed by past seasons form and experienced players who are known performers but no walk up starts on name alone. Form must be the first cause for inclusion in the League team and if someones struggling bring up a form player from the maggoos !!!

Starting from a back pocket -

Moore Rumble Davey

Leishman Jackson Twomey

K-T Hampson Hilda

Kerr Stevenson Gum

Waters Wheeler Deluca

Rucks - McDougs Mahoney Bristow

Inter from - Phelan,Daniels,Lefanu,Worthington(Delahunty,Boland,Stockley - Haven't seen them yet but knowing Subi they'll play first up as we always play our recruits even if they haven't earned their stripes) Horsley,Forrest and Blech (all experienced will play if fit and in form)

Mature back-ups to push up - Genovese,Hay,Mcdonald etc

Young guy's many who've had a taste of league footy now and will get another crack if they can be consistant include - Bogensburger,Garcia,Ashman,Wohling,Smythe,Halligan,Clarke,Fetherstonhaugh,Pickett,Madut,Elliott,Joyce etc

Doesn't look too bad - Our ressies will be good - I like our depth this season.

Looking forward to a big year from Stevenson. His knee injury came at the wrong time, I thought he was about to really step up.

Not sure how scientific my theory is but have always felt leg injuries still effect a player even after he comes back from that injury. If he is out for 6 months it takes another 6 months to regain full strength and confidence.

Hoping that now Stevenson has been back for as long as he has been out he may be about to reaaly step up and be a very good WAFL player.

Yep agree he has always shown a bit but needs to perform week in - week out.
If not I think one of the three new talls will take his place and he'll be spending time in the 2nds. Ball's in his court.

Not a bad side if a few of those named on the bench are in...

Agree Totally - been a problem since way back when Smith retired hence I don't think we can make the top 4 and Broady hasn't returned - But if all the stars align and one of the recruits can bag 40-50 or even a small forward like Picket can come to the party then we're a chance ???

Yep but don't need injuries which we've copped over the last few years.
Change of the guard in the backs with no Parker and Randall but I think we've got some good ones as back-up and I like the look of young Jackson.
Goals are required so who's stepping up Deluca/Picket or the young fella from Baldivis ??? Can any of the recruits bag a few ??? We need someone to come to the party as we don't have a Broadhurst anymore either - I thought he may have been a chance to return in 2014 ???

Yep nothing like having a key forward, its funny everyone has written us off at Swans this year but we still have one of the strongest spines going around from Ames, Simpson, (Elari, Riggio, Davis, young Faulkner and some other fresh talent through the middle etc) Notte and Geappen. I wouldn't be too quick to write us down as an easy victory this season for any team. Our Ruck stocks are a weakness and height in general but who knows who might emerge and that's an exciting prospect to look forward to. But Subi will be In the mix for sure

Agree but I think it will be a close comp out from the top four between and in probable order South Subi Tigers Perth Swans. The only reason I had Swans last as I thought you were going to be minus a few more players and I'm still worried about your depth in ressies if a few of your guy's don't don the boots or if you get a few injuries ??? Between those teams iv'e listed there is no reason why the order couldn't be vastly different as there's always a few suprises during the season - I wish you well as I know your situation as we've been through it ourselves

What are you paying the players with - 1.8 Million in debt and massive cost cutting - Id be seriously concerned at the motivation of blokes playing for bottletops???
