Questions do have to be asked of the Football Department.
Since the season started we have lost the following League players who have chosen to play elsewhere- McKenzie, Clutterbuck, Coniglio, Maguire, Daniels, Simpson.
Considering depth was always going to be an issue for us this season losing half a dozen players (on top of the well documented Palmer accident/injury) well into the season I would have thought doesnt help.

Simpson was always long odds to last the season.
as for the others it seems they were not happy playing reserves footy and that happens every year, blokes are always going to go elsewhere for $$ or to play with mates.
cant guarantee blokes league games so they stay at the club.

True MO I do find it amazing some certain other clubs always seem to keep the same group together year after year and yet we cant despite some having already tasted League footy.

yep, good question BH - our depth gets eroded as the season goes on, teams like Subi, WP and Claremont manage to have strong reserves teams all year and dont seem to lose players.
South are also usually strong in reserves but I see they are struggling this year.

Comes back to the club culture and the messages being communicated to players. Culture starts from the leadership in an organisation. I'm not a club insider but from my observation there doesn't seem to be much of a unified feel about Swans and their direction at the moment. This has been demonstrated by some of the comments on this website.

Mike - maybe some players prefer chasing $$ in the bush or playing ammos to playing reserves ?
cant blame the coach for all those blokes leaving based don their output, none have dominated league footy

I understand that Mark but I guess my question relates to BH's. How come other clubs can keep their squads together much better in the face of the same $$ pressures? Swans lose a lot more players during the season than other clubs and have done so prior to this coach. Even going back to Rudy Riddoch and Steven Potente for example who have been pretty decent players at West Perth. Rogers, Elari, Coniglio… the list goes on. No other club loses so many players.

Coniglio is no loss for me, not up to league standard but wish him the best.
the others had a disagreement with Harding for some reason and Rogers with Pickering, whilst the tail cant wag the dog I agree that too many capable league players have left and the club and gone elsewhere and the club must take responsibility for that.

Thanks BC, another poor recruit to add to the other lot.

Absolutely poor decision to recruit that bloke. Spits it after being dropped to the reserves? Hmmm he did exactly the same thing at Fremantle after making his debut as a sub and coming on in the last qtr, was listed as an emergency the following week for the trip to Sydney to make way for a senior player coming back in. What was his reaction? Didn't bother turning up to the airport. Who does he think he is Elvis Presley? The head of your football department should be sacked.

I don't think anyone from Perth is qualified in any way to offer any other club any advice
