Interestingly Southy many Swans fans still rankle at the Sutton recruitment as being unsuccessful although he did play a State game for WA in his one season here in 81.

BH: I was unaware that Sutton was a two time 'all Australian' player. Sutton was the player 'mr football' had a go at on that video during an address of the players. 'The Australian football' website described his time at SD in 1981 as 'mediocre', something most observers would maintain to be accurate.

He was a Tasmanian originally AR who played some bloody good footy at North Melbourne in their very successful 70's era but certainly didn't dominate a WAFL that was every bit as good as the VFL back then. There were plenty of VFL "stars" who completely struggled when they played in the WAFL in the 70s & 80s AR and yet the Vics still believe they were "far superior" to us. Went on to play at both Richmond and Sydney after his mediocre stint at the Black Ducks.
