Its a pity we are playing SF this week and not the week after as both sets of supporters on ozfooty could have all caught up for a quiet beer or 2 at the newly refurbished & re-open Guildford Hotel before or after the game ...tho Im not sure they serve milk there for Bazza! :)

Interesting to note on Ric's site SD are currently ranked #2 in the league for tackles which I'll assume is because we are chasing a lot of tail and not due to high pressure acts. Also note we are unsurprisingly ranked #1 for something being goal kicking accuracy % against. Maybe we need to work on standing the mark with a bit more aggression. Always thought the way a team mans the mark is a good indicator to genuine effort levels not just in front of goal but across the ground. Its all about the one percenters right now for our club as our kids learn to play as a unit. ;)

Dwert wrote: Agree Southerner always tough to win at Basso against the ducks this match will be a lot closer than a few of the SD posters are predicting. If we turn up in the right frame of mind and play at our best the result will take care of itself. Wet weather predicted on the weekend also so should make for a hard physical contest.

Dwert and Southerner oh for a repeat of the result from the S Michael Freo train match.

Hey Southy do you remember a SD vs SF game down at the Boneyard in the early 80s where TI & Roo ran into each other with such force I'm surprised both players weren't carted off straight to the hospital behind the goals :pinch: ...sheesh that was an unbelievable era of footy.

Jealous Southy....I just missed that era although was listening on the radio from about 6 years of age. What I'd have given to see Phil Narkle and Maurice in their prime

Yep just loved those days, bottom of the ladder, struggling for wins, top teams with cash poaching our best, Randall, Kenny Marshall et al, hell we can't even crack a mention in Southerners signatures list! Ah them were the days ;)

Hahaha Yeah you're right there mate - Big Ronny Bayens , Roch Devenish-Meares , Neil Taylor , Johhny Dimmer , Gar Buckenara , Tim Gepp were a few that stood out Vinnie Catoggio too

If your Head Office hadn't been so drastically incompetent to the point where you were 2 years past insolvent you wouldn't have had to sell those players you mentioned & that my friend is fact

Beasley Hutton wrote: GTR may well have been talking about Blakely, Nuich, Blight and or the fact Simpson & Ames didnt reappear after half time Freeze. I thought a pretty sharp individual like your good self would have been all over it as you do spend most of your time on the Swans threads although you must only read the "banter" from Barry & Outer!

fark BH, Simmo must of brought his own footy then.....26 touches to 1/2 time! ;) ....no wonder why you guys didn't add much to your 2 goal first half then.....yep thanks for the clarification BH :P .....though did think Blakely was gone for the year and not due to return any time soon but maybe G-1 knows other wise ....seems like Blights injury curse from his Magpie days continues..perhaps black n white are Blights unlucky colours  ..and as for Nuich, yep that reserves apprenticeship Harding has inked out for him, will come in handy for when he returns....

are you guys missing any other KP players BH?.....definitely will need them v SF....SF have a great line up of KP players.....touch wood the wet weather tightens up the scoreline for SD....reckon SD can get over the line here.....all primed for the Rudy Riddoch show i reckon.....just waiting for the ringmaster to tell us what time it starts I guess....hopefully the match relives the good ole banter from the 80's for you BH ;)....SD to kick more than 3 goals and to win by 3 pts.....
