DW which players do you think have been selected and not selected based on that criterion?

Surely Coniglio would be getting looked at...still got a long way to go but young and has an elder brother in the system which usually helps one get a look in. Needs to stop chip kicking around corners is my only analysis of him in the little ive seen and focus on hitting his targets (We dont have room for another Faulkner in the side) Alby must have some admirers as well, leg speed is an issue but he can play. Not sure if he is in our best 22 at this moment in time but he is close and i'd be playing him. I've heard first hand Brisbane are looking at Rudy so can only assume he is not in the team because of the calf niggle that has troubled him this season. Daniels surely must go close this year and is in our best 22 so no argument there. Other than that I'm a little afraid to comment because I haven't seen enough footy this year. I'm not even saying I disagree with playing these young blokes if they are on the AFL radar. Regardless of that we need to see if they are up to it at some stage. I'm not going to question Harding. I like the fact that we are giving the kids a go. My only gripe at the moment is the same one Mad Dog keeps raising. Too many similar type players with lack of leg speed but I guess you can only work with the players you've got in the squad.

DW certainly at one stage quite a few years ago the selection policy was to pick players who may get drafted; I am not sure that is the case this season. I accept that there have been some selections which have not been universally accepted. Where we finish at the end of the season will be the final proof of our selections.

Dylan Nelson is back at Swans.

He was disciplined for a week after failing to attend a recovery session. So really the lad cost himself a spot as Harding told him he'd have been in.

Live and learn hopefully!

thanks for the update Mad Dog.
hopefully he, Rudy and Ansey can force their way back into the side, they give the team some x factor.

I think Harding is setting a good platform here with discipline etc and is showing if you don't tow the line or crack the shits when something doesn't go your way then it is bye bye no matter how good you are or what talent you show. We have been burnt before by bad eggs so better to flush them out earlier rather than later. Some of these young fellas are weak as piss really if they are going to walk out at the drop of the hat when they don't like something!! We cant have the tail wagging the dog, look at what is happening at East Freo atm, they are a basket case when just a few weeks ago were real contenders
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Totally agree!
I know a ressies player who rocked update to a game earlier in the year and he was given a 2-3 week suspension from playing.

In retrospect we can be quick to judge on theses matters as there's obviously more to it most times and sometimes I think it'd be a good idea for the club to get on the front foot and keep us informed. I've never come across an injury list or something of the like but it would be handy.

I can remember back when there were issues with Wes Lammie and a few other players, people getting stuck into Harding and co. I was one from memory to say that it seemed he was more interested in being everyone's pal and told them what they wanted to hear.
That's definitely not the case now!

Still interested to find out about Donovan??

And selection this week will be intriguing!

Let's hope it is a lesson learned MD as I for one am looking forward to seeing the Colts group from the last 2 years taking us on an exciting path over the next few years if not drafted into the AFL of course!

I'm not convinced those guys will get us to a Flag in the Seniors. We will need to recruit well in the next year or 2 to make sure we don't miss the boat!!!

the ones not getting a game are the most talented ones - Wilson, Nelson and Ansey and have been very impressed with Jesse Turner, is a mile better than Burnham, actually runs with the football instead of playing under 10's kick and mark footy.

Have watched Jessie closely in a couple of games because I played a bit of footy with his old man. Agree with your comment MO. Has still got a way to go but will bring some flavour to the side with his run and carry if he continues to progress
