In all honesty are SD and EF technically fighting for 7/8th spots, especially with Cl ramping up the wins.....I know both clubs can still push for finals but I really thought SD would win this game easily considering EF losing Hampson up front and Stephen up back.....how did the debutants go for both teams?

I wouldn't use injuries as any excuse as we had a few out the equal of or better than your outs in Simpson, Geappen and Blight et al just to name 3

FMD.....where did I say EF lost because of Hampson, Stephen and Read being out.......said I was surprised SD didn't win by more!.....anyway all three of those SD boys played in SD loss to EF up at Basso earlier this year so obviously you don't need them as much as you think.....and I'm pretty sure Hampson, Read and Stephen played in that EF win....so I'll let you work out which three are important to their clubs success.....

What was that you wrote last week about making excuses after a loss again freeze!!
The self proclaimed "best midfield outside the AFL" rolled by the Swans battlers!

FMD where did I make excuses that EF lost....I picked SD to win BH....actually picked all 4....all I said I was surprised if SD are as good as you boys think they are then why didn't you win by more......yeah those SD boys were out, but they all played in that earlier loss to EF at Basso....so how big a loss were they compared to the three EF boys who did play in that game and didn't yesterday?....anyway no excuses from me.....as for the best midfield in the comp.....naagh just because Judgey says they are doesn't mean he speaks for me.....yeah on paper they look good....but hey if games were won on paper SD would be sitting on top of the ladder undefeated and working towards their 6 consecutive flag since Krakouers in 2010  ......and yeah we get it EF oval is a shit hole.....tell us something we already don't know

The win was probably better than it looked given the lead up to the game.

Freeze went to great lengths to dismiss the Malaxos sacking as a motivational factor for EF but as it was the players that caused his departure you would have thought they would have had a point to prove and been fully committed. They may wel have been in that frame of mind but Swans were still good enough to overcome them on their home ground.

Perhaps the players can now go under the microscope rather than looking for excuses and influencing a very weak board decision.

Freeze I cant remember seeing one post on here saying SD are the world beaters of the comp. We know where we are at with one of the youngest squads in the League. Winning away from home against the most experienced side (along with the whitegoods mob $ubi) in the WAFL, up against the best midfield outside the AFL according to a few learned footy heads, to deal with the EF players forcing out a WAFL great in Malaxos early in the week, to overcome some severe butchering of the footy and still come away with the 4 points is not a bad effort from our kids but we are still yet to find consistency quarter to quarter let alone week to week. Deflecting the very experienced EF's problems on 3 players missing and pretending it is not an excuse is actually deadset laughable!

Congratulations on the win.

BH You beat a team that has not won for the best part of the month by a goal.

Why are your young players not playing as well as in the first part of 2014?

what youngsters would they be ArkRoyal ?
Swans have given debuts to 9 players this year who are 20 or younger and another Jason Daniels had only played 1 game prior to this year.
I believe you go for Subi, what is the age of the youngest player you have debuted this year ?

maybe if Subi played a bunch of 18/19 year olds they might discover why young players are not playing well every week.

MO -- Well EF do have their problems --- fair enough on SD -- but you still have three or four experienced players, whom Perth would very much like. Are the new players of lesser ability than the previous bunch? We must remember that being young does not necessarily equate with defeat. John Todd won a Sandover at 17, as you would know. Players have made test centuries and so on Archie Jackson comes to mind)

MO I have expressed my views about Subi -- restrict the players they can recruit depending on their position on the ladder. We lost half a team too, and would be struggling if such a rule was in place. Irrespective, I am for such a change for the sake of the competition. You have also made suggestions about providing financial help to clubs, from memory. Guess what? You and I are the only people whom have made suggestions on here about the Subiaco problem. The others just complain But if action is taken against Subiaco, at the very least, they will need to keep Kalg., in their zone as they would struggle to compete. Perth and East Perth have had the problem for the past forty years. In short, whatever is done about Subiaco or the alignments in the future, there will be an unevenness in the competition.

Getting back to SD, before the season I had them competing for the five. Did you? Have you changed your mind at all?

so you are saying that cos Toddy won a Sandover at 17 and Archie Jackson scored a ton at 17 that all 17 year olds should be doing likewise.
well why isnt Subi playing their 17 year kids in league ?

i actually have no idea what point you are trying to make and you couldnt answer the question about the age of Subi's debuting players this year.

why are you more concerned with the development of Swans youngsters compared to your own club ?

MO -- no certainly not all young players -- but there have been more modern players too whom have done it. Voss, Magro, Cousins and Cousins, Judd, Voss and so on. I have idea whom the Subiacc player, nor do I particularly care to be honest. I notice you made no response to my comments on Subiaco? Don't you want to solve the problem? Under that system we would have to play juniors, just like Swans. We don't have a great zone, so would struggle a wee bit; but, that is how it goes.

To be honest MO, I was simply interested in your opinion about the matter
