More reflections on yesterday

It was a weird game for momentum. In the first and last quarters combined, Perth scored 10 - 4 to Swans 4- 2, a difference of 38 points, whereas in the 2nd and 3rd quarters combined, Swans scored 9 - 5 to Perths 1- 8, a difference of 45 points in those two stanzas!

The midfield revolved too much around 3 players. Daniels had a quiet day, Davo was not at his best and Burnham was OK without standing out. We need some more strength and pace in the midfield, Banfield and Blight would probably provide us with that in time but they are both probably a few weeks off.

Ricky Cary played better today but his kicking for goal seems to have deserted him, Donavon and Jukes made the most of their opportunities. Nathan Blakely was the dominant ruckman on the ground and has hardly missed a beat since his return.

The next debutant could well be Alby Dean who picked up 27 touches in the ressies yesterday. Jackson Slater could also come into calculations for a game against his old team after 4 goals.

I thought there was a really good crowd there on Saturday which probably coincided with the Ammo's having a bye. There was an even spread on the outer side and the can bar on the hill was chockers.

The game itself never reached any great heights! I wasn't sure in the 1st term if Perth were good or we were that shite. When I got to the huddle and Harding was blowing a gasket I knew it was the latter. I've not seen Harding that animated before and he gave the mids a decent old spray, then came back and went at them again before addressing the group with similar venom. It worked to a certain extent and although we weren't brilliant we managed to build a lead and hang on. The fade out in the last 15 minutes was worrying and the overall performance could have some fallout.
If my info is correct then there were some stern words said to individuals in front of the group after the game and not too many were missed. Selection will be interesting this week!
Amesy will be back in.
Swoop won't play after tweaking a hammy. I'm sorry to say but I think we might be better with him not in the side.
Nuich could come back in and I'm hoping Slater also gets back in. I like his pace and is a line breaker, reminds me a bit of Boekhurst.
Good to see Banfield get through but surely he will have another week,at least,in the ressies. Wilson didn't play ressies so not sure what the go is with him.
Just on Alby Dean. I love the kid and he is a real goer but I can't see him in the same team as Whitsed and Faulkner,he's just too small and isn't overly quick.
Oh and I think Blights hammy was a long termer but could be wrong.

A reminder to all Swans fans that this weekends game starts at 1:40pm because of Channels 7's monopoly on the competition.

Yeah staggering these bloody broadcast times 'Beas from one week to another & you have to feel for the volunteers/crews who now have to get to grounds basically in the dark with the early start times

You have to ask why they fixture the later starts at grounds with bugger all lighting suitable enough for twilight finishes
