Must win game on Saturday. If Swans can get over the Dees, we will be 4 - 5 and in the mix to push for a top 5 spot. Defeat leaves us at 3 wins and 6 losses and with a lot of work to do in the 2nd half of the season. You would think the boys would be able to get the job done but the inconsistency of performance within games makes me feel a bit uncertain and would no doubt encourage Perth. The Demons were pretty impressive in the last 3 quarters of their last game against East Fremantle and they are showing signs that they are responding to Spalding's coaching.
Hopefully Davis can continue his form from the state game, Ames didn't come up last weekend, so you would have to think he is some doubt for this game. I do hope they select Wilson and Nelson who were very unlucky to be dropped for the last game against Subiaco IMO.
Lets hope for a performance like the last home win v Peel. Either way I think it will be a lot closer contest between the two teams than the first game in March.

Yes that's correct, not a dead cert for Swans to win at all. I feel Perth are unlucky not to have won 3 more games. But they've just fallen short and could easily be on 16 premiership points. Although Swans are sporting far better stats than Perth, it's not the be all and end all of it. Perth are right up there with tackling averaging 14.3 percent, whereas Swans are on 12. Perth need to be consistent throughout their matches, not play in patches. If Perth win, it will give them the belief to cause the teams above them some grief as the season goes on.

if Harding once again decides to pick an unbalanced side then Perth are in for a chance.
when the pressure has gone on Harding he hasnt delivered, hasnt won a final and his team still puts in inconsistent performances.
and he loves reserves players like Burnham and McKay.

I think your being a bit tough there MO. The pressure was definitely on heading into last year after a heap of departures and not only did he guide us to the top 4 but he was able to get some lads drafted. Last years finals effort can't be all his fault! We were up by 6 goals with sore blokes everywhere only to get over run.
The pressure is on to back that up and we are around the place after a tough draw and not much recruiting.
I do think we went in a bit heavy against Subi but I don't think 1 or 2 changes would've changed that result.

A huge 4 game block coming up where we play Perth twice with EP and EF in between. Nothing less than 3 wins will be the target and if we have close to a full squad in each game then we are certainly capable of winning all 4. If we don't win at least 3 then I don't think we will make the 5 and probably don't deserve to.
It's also a massive chance for our ressies to push in and hold a spot in the 5, something that hasn't been achievable in recent years..

MO perhaps you might like to critique the likes of Faulkner as well and whether he should be playing league or ressies and why.

At different ends of the spectrum But I don't think we can have Faulkner,McKay,Whitsed in the same team. Much like I don't think we can have Nuich,Blakely,Geapen and Houghton in the same team.

We were far too top heavy vs $ubi especially considering the conditions. Hopefully Blight is back this week as he has been sorely missed in the middle and bring back in 2 of our better users of the pill in Wilson & Nelson.

Faulkner I would persist with but his kicking has been horrible this year, don't need other smalls like McKay, Whitsed and Burnham.
As BH said get Wilson and Nelson back in, 2 of the most skilled blokes in the club and both have a massive future.
Blight is hopefully back from injury as we need some size in the middle, if Riggs has a down day then we have no size and strength in there and have to move Davo in there from the forward line
