What a topsy turvy season for Swans so far, its hard to know what to make of it, so far we’ve had
• Two solid four quarter performances ( v Peel and v Perth)
• A poor start which left us too much to do ( v East Perth)
• A patchy effort but good enough for the 4 points ( v South Fremantle)
• The better of a mistake riddled game only to be overrun in the past 10 minutes ( v West Perth)
• A poor effort all day where Swans were completely outplayed (v East Fremantle)
• Another patchy effort where the oppositions poor kicking kept us in the game ( v Claremont)

To be honest every other team bar Subiaco have struggled with their consistency, so Swans are not unique in this years competition.

So what are we going to get against Subiaco this week? You can be sure that anything less than our best footy will result in a resounding defeat. Swans are capable of taking it up to anyone on their day but those days are sadly a little less frequent than they were last year.

I’m sure Harding will make some changes this week. Ames will be a huge loss, Houghton will come back if fit, Faulkner should be there. It may also be good to bring Jukes back given that he would feel good about his performance in this particular fixture last year...... remember this Swannies fans?

For me, the highlight of the season was that last quarter where we piled on 8 goals and looked totally invincible. Maybe Harding can invoke the memory of this twilight game to demonstrate that anything is possible.

At the very least I hope to see the boys put everything into this game and if they are still beaten then it will be because Subiaco are a class act rather than any lack of concentration or effort on our guys part.

Hopefully the rain is not a factor and the game is a good spectacle for Swans first TV appearance of the year.

And apparently this match has the later starting time of 1440. Whereas the other three games start at the normal time.

Better than 5pm where you can't see the other side of the ground. Good call on Jukes mikeh. Had a good game last year even with the disgraceful umpiring decision when he took a blinder 25m out straight in front of the ump only for the numpty to call play on. Guess the ump couldn't see out there under those lights either. Same game probably ended Latch's future at SD after he was taken out in and act of thuggery and never quite recovered his form or place in the side. Looking forward to seeing my beloved Ducks this weekend before heading away again so hope they can turn one on for me and make it a great day out....hope I can bring the joy again BH!!!!

Greg Harding was on the radio this morning and said Ames should be right to go.
Jukes injured a back on Sunday so doubt he will play. Houghton pulled up tight in the calf last week but should be right to go and Cary would come in if he gets cleared but in saying that, those 2 players could make us a bit top heavy if it's wet so maybe only 1 plays. Conditions would suit Faulkner so he should be an in for sure.
Wouldn't think Banfield will play this weekend, even in ressies, if its raining and word has it he's struggling a tad with the leg even though he thinks he's close.
Not sure what the verdict on Geapen is.

Cary is available. Found guilty of striking in the reserves but given a reprimand. Think he would come into the team

Will be an interesting contest given the forecast is not just rain but storms, so if that's the case it will be wet and windy. That will take some of Subi's skill advantage out of the equation as it will be a down and dirty slugfest. The team that sticks to the simple wet weather principles will win, no fancy stuff just keep it moving forward. Perhaps the advantage Subi will have in the wet is that we have more bigger bodied mature blokes which will be an advantage in the packs perhaps.

Even though you Swans people travel in good numbers, the bad forecast and the fact it's on the tube will have a big impact on the crowd. I think there will be more punters in the clubrooms watching it on the box rather than outside!!

Good news there mike...and to think he is not even an AFL listed player and after being found guilty he cops only a reprimand, well I'll never......!!!

Mate IF we play with the same level of intensity and attitude as we did vs FART a couple of weeks ago we are capable of beating anyone ...but that is a very big IF!

Picking Swans to do Subiaco over by 28 points - a couple of handy inclusions will give the Black & Whites some steel & depth that will trouble the Maroons
Stopping the supply lines to Yarran just has to be done & the two old ex-Ducks lads might need to have their balls squeezed

Go farken hard lads & drive it like it was stolen :cheer:
