I think the wet conditions are going to give us a better chance today v the reigning premiers. Our advantage in pace hopefully will counter their bigger more experienced bodies and I am tipping a win for the mighty black and whites by 20 pts
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Sorry Swan Dog. Ducks arent tough enough defensively and young bodies. Probably the worse conditions to get Subi at.

Point taken Astro...no need to give match summary...that is basically what the difference was today. Top job by Broad on Yarran for 3 1/2 qtrs is all that needs to be added from a Swans perspective. Mids got smashed by a much slicker outfit but right now it doesn't matter...more concerned about getting some feeling back in to my face fingers & toes. Leederville Oval must be the most shit ground in WA to go and watch the footy when it is wet & windy. The place goes Antarctic on you and you suddenly find yourself disinterested in the footy and more concerned about surviving hypothermia. Honestly I'd rather have a bloody ice bath right now than go sit back in that bloody stand. Rather than applaud Subi and blast my team's performance all I'm going to offer this evening is a solid congratulations to every single spectator who braved the weather today, went the distance and survived the afternoon. To the dozen or so eskimoes on the outer...your are my eternal heroes....back in Indo on Monday... TFFT!!!!!

Edit: Almost forgot to mention Andrew Embley's get up today. In the words of Andy Holmes "have you ever seen a bloke from Basso & Eden Hill ever even attempt to wear a suit like that". John Travolta eat your bloody heart out mate. Sensational effort Embles hahaha

Well done Subiaco. Too big, too fast and too skilled. They pressured Swans into mistakes and fed off these errors all day. Apart from the first ten minutes of the game and a brief period in the third, Swans were 2nd best. If the Lions had kicked straight it would have been 80 points. What is happening to Ricky Cary? He looked lost today and is a shadow of the player that he was last year.

My mail is that he might have found love which may just have re prioritised where the importance of footy stands in his life mikeh. 100% agree with you looks disinterested at best this year, constantly caught out of position and under observation at 1/4 & 3/4 time huddles seems more interested in joking with his mates on the sidelines than paying attention. My observation only here but I think he might have gotten a little ahead of himself after a solid year last year and is no longer working as hard as one needs to compete at WAFL level. Harsh I know but that is my observation in the games I have watched this year. If I was coaching I'd be sending him down back to learn some work ethic after a very lacklustre start to the season.

That's the coaching staffs fault then. Do that at a Subi huddle and Schofield will knock you out. But are you honesty expecting a bloke with 69 on his back to take anything seriously.

Schofield knock someone out ? Not based on his football career.

Well done to swans backline today, saved us from a 100 point thrashing.
Midfield was pathetic, McKay and Burnham are reserves footballers and should never been seen again, elari and Faulkner all effort but skills horrible today.
Daniels and Whitsed still kids but need to be one grab players so hopefully they can work on that.
Harding needs a reality check as after 4 years we still lack consistency week to week and our midfield has not improved and not as good as he thinks.

Special mention to Broad, his improvement this year has been great, beat Yarran and was under the pump all day.

Percy and Edmonds have some work to do on our clearances, we get no clean footy from the middle

Whilst we're giving out brickbats and bouquets special mention should be given to that shell of a club called East Perth. Apparently due to their complete prostitution of their principles they have a new found source of income with the host club alignment and as a consequence don't need to open their clubrooms when they are not playing at Leederville Oval. Perhaps for once the WAFC will insist that for the betterment of the WAFL competition and its supporters it would be beneficial for East Perth to make their facilites available for opposition supporters at Subiaco's home games.

Everyone who had to endure the conditions in the "East Perth" stand today would have to wonder why they were attending the match.

Yeh Swan what a shithole we had to attend today! There is a massive gulf between footy at Basso and anywhere else, thanks F##k I am a member of Swans. Today was a disgrace that ERT had their rooms shut, maybe because "they" were all working over the rd at Subi oval

The whole game was pretty ordinary from Swans point of view but the 2nd quarter was particularly abject. I have rarely seen so many skill errors from a Swans team as in that scoreless quarter. Sure there was a breeze but players just kicked and handballed indiscriminately playing into the hands of the well organised Subiaco defence.

Faulkner and Elari got 57 touches between them during the day but so often they butchered the ball and a turnover resulted. There were several guys who were pretty much passengers today ( Cary, Mckay,Riddoch even Riggio had a rare poor game) and this made it hard for the guys who were putting in.

The defenders were all great considering they were under siege. Broad is the most improved player at the club this year and he did a great job on Yarran. Don't know where we would be without Notte, 11 marks today no less. Doc Blakely battled hard, Simmo and Ugle were prominent but there were too many others who went missing for large parts of the game.

Swans have 2 home games after the State break against Perth and East Perth, both very winnable games given current form and this represents a chance to get their season back on an even keel.

I don't think Subiaco would have been entirely happy with their performance today but they certainly confirmed that it will take a good team to knock them off this year
