you are a true gentleman mikeh, humble in defeat and well versed in seeing the positives...accurate kicking in play and for goal goes a long way in winning a game.....at least EF league side didn't repeat what the EF colts did in thier game.....perfect opportunity for EF colts to nail the opposition but poor kicking for goal ultimately kept SD colts in their contest and they were good enough to do the business....like any good side can....I see SD have 9 boys in the state squad and EF have 7....well done to both clubs on that achievement.

Be interested to see if the tribunal makes an example of Cary with his sling tackle.....I guess Cary was trying throw whatever little weight he has around at the time.....couple of weeks on the sidelines eating Hungry Jacks should help Ricky put on that extra weight he obviously feels he needs to throw around the place ;) ........unecessary but part of footy I guess.....no doubt if ROB had done it to a SD player, SwanDog would be having kittens and demanding justice.

EF can take nothing out of this contest besides 4 pts.....SD like most of the teams in this comp are good on their day and exceedingly average when not.....hard for SD fans to fathom I guess....but really besides Subi, no WAFL fan can be that confident week in week out, of what sort of performance their side will bring to the table each day.....all starts a fresh again next week.....SF could easily roll EF in the derby, whilst SD could turn up next week and give WP a flogging......early days.....anyones game I reckon from spots 2 - 5!

MD I hope you have no problems with the report of Cary.

Freezin a couple of observations:

the Cary report was a direct response after he tackled the player and did not one 360 but two 360s before he put the East Freop player to the ground. The action was due to the umpire's inability to blow the whistle and award either a free kick for holding the ball or to bounce the ball. Whatever Cary gets, and it should be NOT GUILTY, the umpire directly responsible for the action should be given 10 TIMES that suspension for his complete disregard of his duty of care and dare one say incompetence.

For those Swans' supporters who are excessively critical of the performanc of our team yesterday should perhaps go through the team and check out how many inexperienced players we had playing league yesterday. Sure we were comprehensively beaten by a better team on the day. However, there were some positives that came out of the game yesterday. Our younger players continue to show promise and overall we should feel confident in the direction our club is going.

Kudos also to our ressies' again their perofrmances need to be placed in the context of the relative strengths of the teams they play against.

A body slam is hardly putting a player to the ground! It was excessive! To Cary"s credit he sought out Sam Read after the game and apologised.

I don't think it was a reportable offence but I don't really have an issue with them taking a look at it. At the end of the day it will the tribunal who determines wether guilty or not,not the reporting umpire.
The vision will show it wasn't a slinging or spear tackle. I thought he got him at a good angle and pinned his arms. More unfortunate than anything. A bit like the Bartel one. There was a bit of a scuffle once the east boys realised he was a bit worse for wear but it was malicious then I'm sure they would've got a bit more worked up.
All that being said,if he is somehow found guilty I'd expect that he would get 3-4 weeks.

Nah! Given the recent history of WAFL Tribunal decisions it will probably be a reprimand.

Like I said I give credit to Cary for apologising to Read after the game! I was there with a couple of mates who are Swans supporters, who unlike you, also thought the force used in the tackle was excessive! Maybe you can refer me to where you buy your blinkers! PS no where in my previous comments did I say it was reportable!

tackling is part and parcel of footy.....due to the nature of the game, not every tackle is going go according to plan......interesting to hear Cary sought out Read and apologised....surely you only apologise when you do something you shouldn't of done? .....be interesting to see what the tribunal do or more often don't do......

If it had of been the other way round, I'm pretty sure Swandogs comments wouldn't be the same......not fussed either way if Cary does or doesn't get suspended.....not too sure why he went out of his way to apologise though....he didn't do anything wrong....sounds a bit soft of Cary doing that.... eh Swandog? ;)

42....as I said mate, EF win means little except 4 pts.....they beat a side which unfortunately is promising like others in the comp, but not as good as some of the SD fans probably like to think I care to say.....I was more pleased with EF colts performance....either EF colts have improved 10 fold or SD colts have gone backwards.....pretty sure EF lost to SD last year by 12 goals plus both times they met.....12 pts is a huge improvement.
