Larry Bird wrote: Why would his season be finished before the colts finals? The older boy I agree with you is not at league standard yet but you have a hard time keeping players at Swans in particular ruck man.

Which players are you talking about? Which one is "not at league standard yet"?

I would prefer you to answer my question first. However, I will have to explain to you that one of the Blakeley boys, namely the older one Nathan, should finish very high up in our Swan Medal.

I will explain my comment for you LB: since you don't rate the older brother it follows that you wouldn't rate the younger brother either. Hence, he would have been selected, by you, in your semi-final team.

Well aware of that I follow the game too much really. Surprise draft pick really tall and athletic counts for much more than ability in the AFL.

League games only!
There are a few boys at other clubs whose fathers played League footy at Swans including one at your mob but only Jack Richardson from Claremont (son of Steve) would be eligible for father/son.

My feeling is Connor whilst able to hold is own should be left in the colts. He will be drafted early it's always my approach to treat them with caution at that age don't bash them up on the seniors. Nathan a little bit older and bigger able to play the level and is coming along well. I rate them both would Nathen be in our best 22 probably not this year. Just my opinions take them as you will. Now if you could answer why Connors season would have finished before the colts finals.

Good for you LB but we have a policy at Swans if they are considered good enough to play League footy then they play League footy regardless of age. Connor played a League game last year at age 17 and was an All Australian in the 18's this year. Doc has been coming along the last couple of years playing a few League games here & there after missing a whole year with a knee reco coming out of the Colts and he has single handedly rucked all year for us this season. If both boys were at EP they wouldnt have played League footy at all as the Eagles have preference plus the 2 big boys on 100k a year would never be dropped to the dags to make way!

Daws played a kid in a gf that kicked 4 but can't do that at EP, has to play homegrown products like Butler, Hill, McGinnity etc to make sure EP get their flag, got reward for the locals to miss out for those blokes
