Hand ball's received are a KPI for most teams as it shows how hard players are working to get the ball moving to break down defensive structures further up the ground.
Yep understand that BC, but it is the lack of shepherd/block to the receiving teammate on the opponent chasing them that shits me no end.
It is just lazy, lacking game awareness, selfish and dumb team football imho!

Time to move on from our poor performance against SF at home last Saturday and start preparing for a Perth side that took it right up to a near full strength EP on the weekend.
These clashes are usually very hard fought and would expect nothing less again this week.
Would expect a few changes from what was an underwhelming showing at home although the Ressies were also very ordinary against SF as well.
Hopefully Anderson is back for us who was a late withdrawal against SF?
If Perth can get one or 2 fit players back they will be much better for it, yep we had a full strength or close to it and ..............
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

I should also add I hope young Seb Bright is ok after copping a nasty knock to the kidneys in the 1st half on Saturday.
He has been a good replacement for Spackman as our lockdown backman and had kept Faraone, Garlett & Ninyette goalless and uninfluential in consecutive games.

Looking at the ladder Swans appear pretty comfortable in 5th spot at the moment with a 3 game buffer to sixth. They have to be very careful though because in the next 4 weeks they will be playing all the teams who are trying to chase them down so they still can't afford to falter at this stage. They probably need another 2 wins to make sure of a finals appearance and ideally if they do it in the next two weeks (v Perth and EF) they will knock those teams out of the race as well. A loss though will encourage the chasing pack.
Funnily enough it is East Perth that are the team that worries me a bit. Since they upset South Fremantle in round 10, they have been playing quite well and a loss to West Perth has been their only setback recently. Their only downside is their poor percentage ( 79) which is worth another game.  If they can beat the West Coast Eagles on Saturday and Swans lose to Perth, then there will be 2 teams within 8 points of Swans. Peel are also a threat because they are the only team with a percentage greater than Swans so they are probably the most likely if they go on a winning run.
The good thing is that Swans have their destiny in their own hands.

Hopefully our players bring and wear the appropriate footwear this weekend as judging by the games at Basso against WP & SF and the amount of times our players fell over in a contest we must be wearing slippers out there!

beat Perth and there will be one large sized slipper in the finals door mate - the 3 game gap is just huge this time of year

Gault is out injured so Germs will have to step up as the number 1 ruckman with back up from Noble and Ireland if he plays. Bright is also sidelined and will be so for a number of weeks I suspect. Bain has been dropped. In come Waite, Bayok and Anderson. I am surprised that Jetta came up as he looked very proppy last week. Perth look pretty solid even though they obviously still have a number of first choice players out injured. They still have some very good players including Sinclair who always gives us a hard time, Cary, Edmonds and Byrne.  I'm sure ex Swannies Rogers and Coniglio will be given a warm welcome by the lads in the Swans Bar

Swans really need to rebound strongly after last weeks insipid effort and anything less than a win will not be acceptable.

What are the thoughts about Bayok and Waite coming in?

I think Waite makes too many mistakes and I always get nervous when I am watching him in defence. As Mark Olsen said maybe they should try him in a forward role. Bayok at his best is worth his spot but his form fell away before he got injured. The reserves only kicked 2 goals last week so there are not a lot of guys banging the door down right now.
