Reading the so called article in the paper today I initially thought WCE had had a big win with Brander starring. Reading on I eventually realised Swans had actually won the game. Surely this won’t be the standard of reporting for the Fremantle and WCE WAFL games this season.

As a matter of interest who wrote the article?  What more do you want?  Presumably, the opposition was named and the score as well.

I dont read the ST so not sure who wrote the article but I did see John Townsend at the game?
He is more of a WAFL man than someone who panders to the afl sycophants who would read that paper (or in their case at least just looks at the pictures   ) unless Kerry Media have enforced to their staff they only write about the 2 afl reserves teams from now on??!!

The final score was 10.12 to 10.7.
The game was played in extremely hot conditions it was pretty much goal for goal for most of the game with the lead changing hands a number of times and the biggest lead was probably only 2 goals all day.
A pretty even team effort from our point of view no real standouts whilst for the Eagles their afl boys definitely caught the eye with Brander, AhChee, Ainsworth, Witherden, Winder etc whilst SD boys Edwards in defence & Trew in the midfield played well as you would expect from our production line of talent to that comp!
I noticed the likes of Anderson, Cipro, Ireland, Wilson didnt play again for the second week whilst a number of players that played a half or so last weekend didnt play this week including Fisher.
Big Germs copped a heavy blow in the first half and then sat out the second half of footy.

I saw JT at our game BH, at the start at least which was a 3.15pm start. But yet to see anything written up about our scratchie against EF.

I saw the "match report" of the Swans game in the West yesterday and it was just laughable. Townsend didnt write it ( someone called Russell) It was a completely AFL centric diatribe about the good form of some Eagles hopefuls and what implication it might have for West Coasts selection. The fact that there was some opposition was mentioned only about half way through the article when the final score was given and apparently the only thing that Tony Notte did all day was to inadvertantly put the boot in the face of a West Coast player when he was flying for a mark. At least he was mentioned I suppose. What a joke

Did Notte take the mark?

Hope you are not stalking me.

I went to 3 halves of WAFL footy - SD-WC, Pe-EF then C-PT.

Plenty to like about the WAFL with the season only a few days away.

Well done JT in those conditions on the weekend it was pretty tough going for the players. Sounds like you might have missed the better half of footy at Lathlain. The first half was a bit scrappy. Hopefully we’ll see some decent write ups on the WAFL clubs not just how the AFL players are going in the WAFL.

If you are in fact our West journalist - could you accept a genuine request , probably on behalf of most WAFL staunchers , to expand the reporting of the traditional clubs in the league ?
There are quite a few of us that have no interest in the AFL and who would deeply appreciate coverage that befits our great state league clubs , clubs who are struggling to survive in their own right due to the monster that engulfs everything in it's path - a monster that has it's own enormous advertising department that force feeds the mass public & promotes itself only
As stated before - I make a genuine request on behalf of the grassroot State League supporter of all traditional clubs

Cheers
