It is pretty hard to line up 2021 to be honest.
Last year just put a line through the whole season as it really didnt exist imho (8 games H&A laughable and then one team playing the whole Finals series including GF at home).
The last real proper season was 2019 and we were pretty average to be honest but we have picked up some pretty decent players since including Fisher & Anderson whilst looking forward to seeing how new faces L.Jetta, Palmer & Jones go.
We have lost Hampson to retirement & also Payne but finding a replacement for Grainger-Barrass will prove difficult as he was a class act even though he was only 17-18yo when he played League footy for us, Trew also got drafted to WCE but didnt play League footy for us.
Hopefully some of the young blokes who have had a taste of League in the last couple of years and also our 2020 Colts group coming through step up to make their mark in senior footy in 2021.

If 2020 was a year you can put a line through and pretend it didn't exist then you can't really count Grainger-Barrass as a loss then can you BH? I mean he didn't play for you in 2019.

Yeh welcome back DW, good to see one of those dirty weekender's finally paid off lol. Congrats on the addition to the family tree. I remember when my son was old enough to walk and kick a footy I dragged my arse back to the WAFL after a long hiatus away. He's 25 now and working up in the Pilbara but he still remembers that weekend up in Cunderdin when we had a rare win over Subiaco and a young up and coming Michael Johnson starred in that match and went on to carve out a great AFL career with Fremantle. I asked him to sign my son's football after the game. You too will have great memories your son will cherish bringing your boy to the WAFL.

Yes he did play League in 2019 as well DD.

One league game and one colts game in 2019 BH.
Get on your bike.

One league game and one colts game in 2019 BH.

Severely injured his shoulder late in his League debut that year (2019) in which he was in our best players otherwise he would have played the rest of the season in League, but as I pointed out he did play League that year (the last real season of WAFL footy) at 17.
Not sure where you got the 1 Colts game stat from in 2019 as he played more than that around his WA 18s commitments, he also played some Colts in 2018 including the GF as a 16yo.

Cheers DD, Like my granddad and my dad it’s now time to play my part and introduce my son to the pain and ecstasy of being a swannies supporter. My best childhood memories are also those I spent with Dad either at the footy or talking SD footy....when I think about it my favourite adult memories too, WAFL footy has always been the one common denominator that brings my wider family closer together :) :cheer:

With that said it leaves me wondering where our next local heroes will come from. Who is gonna be our next Tallen Ames, our next Riggio, our next Tony Notte and lead our team forward for the next decade? Obviously this Fisher fella can play (anyone who can stop Jye Bolton winning the Sandover has my immediate respect) but I’m really looking forward to seeing our local kids step up and take the club forward. Jessie Turner is one I’m looking to who should really be starting to come into his own about now.

DW - of the local lads I reckon Turner is our heart and soul player like a Joel Cornelius of recent times.
Cipro keeps improving and if he can be injury free will get even better.
Spackman from Swan Athletic came in and held his own, an old fashioned defender was good value.
Be good if we could find a dashing goal sneak from somewhere

The bigger question would be will we actually have any players forward of centre such that we regularly score well in excess of 10 goals.

With the recent birth of my first kid , COVID permitting , I’m really itching to get back down to the home of footy to catch some live action and introduce my son to the best game in the world.
Being completely out of the loop these days was hoping you kind lot could bring me up to date with what to expect on-field in 2021. For reasons unbeknown, I got this lovely gut feel about the upcoming season. Love to see a few step up and tear it apart like Broady did that year he got drafted at season’s end. Who can I look forward to having break out seasons in 2021? Where’s this sweet vibe coming from? Perhaps you lads can enlighten me with some detail and bring me up to speed 👍

New Dad ! - well there'll be no more dirty weekenders for you for a while my boy
well done stick around for a while now won't you mate

Wouldnt it be nice to see a "modern" coach actually buck the last decade trend of the nonsense that is all 18 pressing up into the opposition half and actually leave players inside your own Forward 50 for a bloody change!

Outs Blakely, Hampson and I think Kohlmann retired.
Warwick Wilson is back.

Disappointing regarding Kohlmann. His marking and accurate kicking will be missed from the forward line.

Agreed, had about 3-4 goes at wafl footy and last year really showed he was up to it, strong mark and lovely kick for goal.
With Blakely gone also a couple of spots up for grabs for the tall players, Germs was the ruck in the reserves.
