Unfortunately there are too many passengers in the team and too may dumb decisions. All it needed was a couple of batsmen to assess the situation and play along at 6 an over and keep wickets in hand. The bowlers did a great job restricting the opposition to 140 but batsmen lost their heads and everyone who got out to Maddinson should be forced to watch the replay continually till the next game. I will now concede to BC that David is a spud but he has got a few mates let me tell you!

Try 10 other mates Mike.

Fair dinkum how thick is Bancroft?
Firstly he runs out the skipper the only PS bloke capable of clearing the MCG fence with a mindless single that was not even needed, then whilst batting with a strikerate of barely 70 fails to bat out even close to the last over or 2 as the innings anchor whilst part time Maddinson throws him up a handful of full toss pies that he either pats back to the bowler or gets out to.
And dont even get me started on the pommy waste of space Livingstone!

Mike -David is a tier3 International for Singapore. Or a Grade Cricketer white ball at best.Does have a good arm in the outfield.

You have to wonder about the environment at the Scorchers though. Cartwright and Coulter-Nile have thrived in the Stars team this year whereas they struggled at the Scorchers, particularly after Langer left.

Mike I heard Karl Langdon on the radio say-
The Scorchers where very sloppy in contact negotiations. The last 2 years.
Like all sports if you sloppy off field. You will also perform the same way onfield.

I apologise for being dumb,(caused I think by 5 years of alignment), but could someone please tell me that apart from the obvious, what is a "spud"?

Theres been some pretty diabolical batting in the BBL this weekend. We saw the Scorchers cave in to the Stars demon bowler Maddinson yesterday, the Sixers bowled out for 76, then the doozy of the lot of them with the Heat losing 10-36 to slip from 0-84 to 120 to lose to the Renegades. The upshot of all that is that the Scorchers finals chances have actually improved despite their appalling batting and if they beat the Thunder tomorrow night they will more than likely sneak in!
