Lets just ban the short pitched bowling as it is dull & boring to watch.

Nothing has been as dull & boring as the MCG pitch of late, now you can add downright dangerous to that list!

After Phil Hughes, everything has changed.

Cricket Australia, the VCA, the match referee and the MCG Trust would be left bankrupt if a batsman was killed or badly injured while continuing to play on a pitch that had been declared as clearly unfit and dangerous.

I see Wes Agar is amongst the wickets again....seems to be having a bit of a breakout year....seemed to get smacked around in the BBL and ODI games when I saw him bowl.

back to the shield competition after the BBL circus has finally finished and the Warriors are a chance of grabbing a shield final spot V NSW. Unfortunately we are losing 4 players to the one day tour of South Africa which will obviously impact on this. Jhye Richardson and Mitch Marsh will be particularly missed. Here is the team to play SA in Adelaide.

Western Australia: Shaun Marsh (c), Cam Bancroft, Jake Carder, Cam Green, Liam Guthrie, Josh Inglis, Matt Kelly, Simon Mackin, David Moody, Joel Paris, Josh Philippe, Marcus Stoinis

Interesting that there is no spinner in the team for a game at the Adelaide Oval. Either Mackin or Guthrie will drop out but still pretty top heavy with pace bowlers. so in batting order

Bancroft
Phillipe
Marsh
Stoinis
Carder
Green
Inglis
Moody
Kelly
Paris
Mackin or Guthrie

Carder is an opener Mike so I can see him opening with Bancroft and Phillipe coming in at 5 or 6 depending on where Green bats.

Let the SACA's off the hook today after having them 5 - 143 at one stage but the last 3 wickets added over 200. Lack of a spinner really hurt I think. Meanwhile Queensland our main rival for a shield final berth absolutely obliterated Tasmania for 78! Neser was unplayable with 4 - 18 off 12 overs

It’s bloody hard to get back into the swing of the Shield after all that Mickey Mouse Big Bash stuff and made even more so with Cricket Australia showing it scant regard by organising rubbish ODIs against SA at the same time thus hurting some states chances coming to the business end of the season, bloody disgraceful CA.

they've spent 83 overs to crawl to 165 a whole days play wasted
got to ask how that can be good for cricket and at this level
no wonder theres poor interest in shield matches

Did Bancroft fall asleep at the crease today by any chance?
