Agree Leedy.. Getting ahead of themselves. If they get over EP which I doubt will be a game at Joondalup if we dont get over CLA and that is not a impossibility.
I will be humble not like our SD friends who think it is in the bag and say if they get over EP they are a chance but they will be playing a WP team at Joondalup with a mission rather than just making up the numbers today..

Long way to go lets see what plays out. Great to see a Finals where all are a chance bit different than when Cla had the flag before the finals started.
Looking forward to the challenge and the games.

Freezin wrote: strange ole day from the looks of things down at Moss St today......good performance by the league side.....stuck to the task against the best side in the comp without the two leading goalkickers for EF playing....a few close defeats were costly, but in the end failure to win games v EP/SD during the season was the deciding factor....well done to those two teams, deserved the final two spots and good luck in the finals....hopefully Rory O'Brien can win the Sandover for his stellar consistent season to give EF at least one success for the year!!

....the reserves without 7-8 regulars playing towards the end of the season fell at the last few hurdles, fustrating, but TBH even if the reserves had made the finals they would of been bounced out in the first semi.....

...the colts TBH were enigmas all season......couldn't kick straight to save their lives....proved costly in the end......not too sure who will get drafted besides the obvious in Cripps and Marsh.....reckon EF will land on their feet if the likes of Bourne, Green, Jansen, Allirr, Sutton, Cuneo, Barone, Regan and Solomon stay at EF in 2014. Jacob Green to win the EF and WAFL F&B awards......stellar season by the kid, bit of a ball magnet similiar to the likes of WP Black and Nelson.

Disappointing to end up with 3 fifth placings for the year.....definite come down from 2012.....but the side at least got some footy into local lads like Cooper, Depane, Macdougall, Jansen, Jupp, Cronan etc who last year were blocked by 5 - 6 AFL boys playing most week......not the case this year as much with only 1 - 3 AFL boys playing most weeks......hopefully with a few fella's like MacNamara and Anthony likely returning in 2014.....plus a few select recruits.....yes an experienced ruck and key forward....EF will be more than competitive in 2014......

Freeze with 7-8 of your Ressies regulars out atm does that make it your C or D team that was in today? ;)

reckon that reserves side would of done justice for one of EF local ammo sides though.....few too many missing come end of the day for my liking. Good luck to your boys v EP next week.....EP will be full to the brim with some 1/2 decent additions!!

BH, he will be refering to the critics I think. A good example was when I hopped in the car on the way home and 91.3 have all written us off, we didnt get a mention which may be justified as we have lost our last two games, but this has been ongoing from 7 weeks back, I thought we were going ok !

Funny thing is they are all over Swans and EP winning the flag this year but one of them is gonsky next week ! Thanks to Percy on his Monday program, he is the only scribe who sees something in us, with Swans having the most talented list in the comp, the pressure is all on them to beat the aligned Ferals, dont let the WA public down Swannies !

Unfortunately mate for both of our teams I can see it is going to be a C vs WCEP Grand Final this year!

We agree on something BH.. EP will be to strong.. And even though many will disagree consider it will get worse with the alignment.

I Feel for the EP players who will miss out on a Final. Will make it interesting to see how many play Ressie if qualified (do they have to qualify?) WP Ressies could be up against it next week.
As they say an uneven playing field.

East Perth are looking somewhat ominous now. Another big win and six Eagles have now qualified to play finals - Matt Rosa, Adam Selwood, Blayne Wilson, Cale Morton, Scott Lycett and Jamie Cripps.
I don't begrudge them Adam Selwood (always an EP-aligned player), but I think the addition of Rosa, Wilson and Lycett from Peel has strengthened them (despite the loss of Dockers players to Peel). And I think Morton and Cripps, who should be playing elsewhere, have certainly tipped the scales...

well I have finally brought myself up to posting here again after last weekend
hoping that it will be a wp v sd gf but unfortunately for the likes of cardy & leedy I don't have much hope after wp last few games

and after someone reminded us that the last time a team won the gf from outside the 1st semi was sd in 1983
it looks like s Claremont hatrick but I hope I am wrong

yeah did some research on this a couple of weeks ago and the odds are definitely with one of the top two winning the flag. 45 out of the last 50 premierships have been won by numbers 1 or 2. The only teams from 3, 4 or 5 to win ( there was a top 5 for a few years in the 90's) were Claremont 1964, Perth 1976, East Freo 1979, Swans 1983 and Claremont 1993 ( they finished 3rd in a top 5, so they really had a double chance)
Of course the odds are better for a team playing in the first semi to make the grand final, in fact this has happened in the last 2 years (Subiaco in 2012 and East Fremantle last year). However in general, these teams have been easy meat for the rested and confident 2nd semi final winners.
