Bayliss got taken out today late so hope he's okay. Lester Smith should be fine if you are allowed to play in a leg brace and drive a gopher. Hopefully those 10 players could improve us. Dreaming!!! The reality is that when we've had lots of AFL players we've played like crap so keep them away!

Mikeh, how do you know this stuff? I remember one year they started with 12 in a row but think that was mid 80's. The 1998 stat is one i should have known so thank you for that.

It was 1985, we won the first 12 games & lost the 13th to WP by 2 points. I recall that we had a set shot at goal after the siren but the kick dropped short. I remember the radio commentator saying that the WP player on the mark had gradually moved over the mark but the umpire had not noticed. Also a premiership year for us after we held off a fast finishing Subiaco in the Grand Final by 5 points.

I was making a point to Leedy. We had a stack of players unavailable as well. You seem to enjoy whinging a lot.

Not sure where the whinge comes in puppy but each to their own I guess. Don't get me wrong - I'm elated with the win but realise that we have little margin for error. Swans are a solid team so playing them at Bombo Valley won't be easy but at least we now control our destiny.

Thanks for stats re 85 season. I have a vague memory that loss to West Perth was at Subiaco Oval but not sure why we would be playing there.

Possibly an interpretation issue with the way your post came across. I too am delighted with the win today & also very pleased that we have turned the season around without the majority of our aligned players. The club has managed to bring in a lot of new players into the side this year & the team has gelled at the business end of the season. I hope we can win next week so the efforts of our last 7 games are rewarded.

Totally agree with you on that. Thrilled with the result today. There is a link below to the match in 1985 when mainy missed from about 35 metres after the ten men standing the mark managed to steal about 15 metres of ground.

geez I'm not too sure what's worse......fans whinging about the umps when they win or lose like the SD boys do a bit here.....or opposition fans writing rubbish like 'well done on the win'....but we had so and so out blah blah....the only quality the WP boys are talking about are Strijk, Van Berlo, Pettigrew and Keunen......and the former three get the luxury of being called quality because they were on an AFL list recently.....the latter fella though is quality because he plays well above his ability.....the rest mentioned by Messers leedy & Cardy are good honest WAFL players who maybe first raters up in Joondy...but elsewhere?....mmmm perhaps not?....importance is relative TBH.....

EF missed their leading goal scorer for 2013 in Lester-Smith and the experience of an ex AFL premiership player in Hadley for a do or die game..quality any WAFL side would want in a similiar position......Boyle is no different to those honest WP players.....important to EF but not necessarily important to another WAFL club......whilst the likes of Kerr, Brown, Dalziell, Menagola etc obviously on paper make EF stronger.....not necessarily on the field though.....

Good to see EF can still win a game with 20 players...away from home.....against a top four side......and by 10 odd goals......counts for nothing come the first quarter v SD this weekend.......another big game down and another big game to follow....one week at a time......as for WP.....well all we know is that if those 9 guys don't come back then WP will go out in straight sets ....once again.....at least EF fans know with those players out important to EF, the side can still turn up and compete for 4 quarters, make their club proud and win a game of footy......something WP fans can't say about their side this weekend......but thanks for the pats on the back for the win Leedy and Cardy.....even though they are full of meaningless shite

I reckon you can beat SD next week Freeze, and have a feeling you can do some damage in the finals..albeit Claremont and EP look the goods at the mo.

should be another cracker down at Steel Blue.....would give anything to repeat the prelim result v SD of last year.....great to see some of EF lesser knowns step up and help the likes of McGough, ROB, Howlett, Dodd and Stephen.......just purely on stats alone ROB must be a pretty good damn bet for the Sandover this year.....consistently producing big numbers each week......
