I think most pundits agree that the Eagles will be pushing shit uphill to make the 8 this year, let alone the 4.  However, getting flogged in their first scratchie for the year isn’t new for them.  I’m sure Hugh would love to be picked up by any club.  He’s not a Judd that could shop himself around.

Definitely a great opportunity for Dixon, as much as i want him to stay at the sharks, good to see him doing well today.

If he gets a gig, good on him.  I’d be pretty disappointed if he was just used as a bits player though.   There’s a few in the Eagles squad that could be questioned.

In what was a pretty dismal performance  by WCE, Dixon was indeed a shining light with his 2 goal effort. Find it interesting  Dixon was given 4 quarters to show his worth  whilst Keitel only got 1 quarter. Does that mean Keitel is already earmarked for a spot?...and Dixon was playing catchup?

With those 3 WCE injuries.....all midfield types, if any are long-term, WCE might go for even more top ups...fark knows what Darling is doing....wouldn't surprise if Strnadica, Dixon and Joyce all get nods.....will definitely  put a spanner in EF 2022 game plan, but a fantastic re-opportunity for all 3 of those EF boys.

Surprise is more a reality now....Joyce been invited back as train on with WCE....as WCE injury list grows and grows.....be interested to see if EF footy department can conjure up any last minute replacements.....Dixon is worth 10 pts....and Strnadica and Joyce one each.....the clock is ticking though.....

Using that well worn Perth fan pre season recruiting mantra - EF need an experienced ruckman, tall key forward and quality mid.

It’s now certain WC will take Dixon after they released Keitel who’s been invited to train on with Fremantle. Good move by Fremantle given Taberner’s history and Lobb already stating he’ll be leaving at the end of this season.

Dixon has just been signed. You may be lucky with Strnadica now. They may go with a midfielder with all their injured mids now.

Congrats to Dixon....find it hard to believe after 2 weeks of training, 2 goals in a scratch match, Dixon gets an AFL lifeline, whilst Strnadica has been there since before Xmas and not given a lifeline....yet. As for that midfield spot, I think Joyce is earmarked for that, been invited back for round 2 of training....

Well done to Hugh- massive blow for the Sharks. Lose Strnadica as well and the big man department- which looked like a real strength- looks thin.

Footy Department will earn their keep if they can pull a rabbit out of a hat from here......
