I have no idea who Slater is but can speak for Wityk, he approached Swans and his old man offered to pay the clearance fee, once that was agreed a contract was agreed to.

Houghton also approached Swans and was told he could only join in a swap so the players were asked who wanted to join Perth and Latch put his hand up, therefore no clearance fee needed.

if you have different information on the transfer fees for Wityk and Houghton you should put it on here as that info came from the Swans CEO and footy manager.

This is the beauty of a footy forum....one party says believe this........another says believe that.....tho the one who says their info came from a particular named source usually is the one bluffing the most.....,as if Hodyl is gonna discuss a particular SD players contract or tsfr details to a complete stranger off the street....

Grump, my East Perth friend (who refuses to post on here because of hellonewman-like garbage) tells me that Steve Wityk actually played 3 League games last season and was in the League squad for most weeks until replaced by players dropping back from the AFL that the eagles insisted play.

My friend is not surprised that Wityk left and thinks that East Perth are entitled to ask what they could for him particularly after developing him from a junior. .

As soon as you signed off to become the Eagles Reserves FC inc. you should have been entitled to fark all by way of any transfer fees, you have received 40 new players that most of the real WAFL clubs have developed for free!

You are absolutely correct on the paying list but surely you would want something for a player developed to the point of being league ready,(as I have said not upto me to say how much but my opinion errs on the side of balancing the desire of the player and some recompense that should all go the development programme at the club). I hope that Steve Wityk shines for Swans and gets the chance to develop further, his Parents are great folk and you are getting some fine supporters.

I suspect we will become the development academy for some clubs and if so the that is fine by me!

I never mentioned Hodyl and the info was relayed to a number of Swans supporters at a function.

though we havnt heard from Ron or Bruce so until then i could be making all of this up.

Hey Grump - an EP colts kid is also on Swans list - Tony Kalimeris.

hopefully heresay from Toms word is as valid as Barneys luncheon heresays of Ron and Bruce chats then!

Come on Swans supporters, since s42 spat the dummy and left when his Garry Walton thread was deleted the rest of you have to pick up the slack whinging, moaning and coming out with crazy conspiracies. I mean no one has been asked to provide written evidence in over a month.

You Swans guys are getting boring, no where near the entertainment of the Perth supporters or West Perth supporters pretending to be East Perth supporters.

I would also add that the level of angst associated with the exodus of a number of players from "East Perth" demonstrates unequivocally that the issue of the host club alignment continues to be front and centre of discussions between WAFL supporters.

Happy to give feedback on the careers, strengths and weaknesses of any young players recruited from East Perth. Grump is also in a position to comment but may tend to be more diplomatic.

Unfortunately, as long as the WAFC continue to lick the boots of both WA AFL Clubs, angst between the G7 and aligned Clubs will remain with East Perth appearing to bear most of the brunt of the ire.

But I for one don't hold anything against the Royals supporters who as we were told had no say in the matter of alignment.
