Grump, we are not talking about the home grown issue here. We are talking about ep players leaving because they are unable to get spots because of the alignment. Where they came from is not the debate, so useless argument. Wilson has gone because he knows there is no room for him. Marcus White left because he was going to struggle to get games.

"The rest are not what you would call league players" Well I would call some of them league players. Brock Higgins, Arthur Bennell, Steve Wityk all could/would have played regular league games this season.

Sampey DID NOT leave 3 years ago. Why did those players leave? Because the club was forcing them to sign a contract to 2015, committing them to the club when they all knew positions would be hard to get. More importantly, they would have been stuck under contract. Just as many of the current players who are trying to leave cannot because the club is asking ridiculous amounts to release them - $16k a player at least.

So your argument for the lack of mass exodus is just Howlett! I know exactly what is happening. Perhaps you should actually take off your rose colored glasses and face reality.

A mass exodus IS happening. I challenge you to go back ANY year over the past 10 at ep and let us know where we have had any more than 15 ressie/league players leave over a 2 year period. Let alone pretty much an entire game day squad over that period.

I will also add that I have only mentioned players. How many officials and volunteers have also left?

Some of what you say has some truth to it Newman, but your also quoting figures and anecdotes which are untrue or not completely accurate. I would personally have liked many of those guys to succeed at East Perth but most of them don't have the size and toughness to go very far. The only consolation is that EP now have bucket loads of money to outlast everyone except Subi.

Larry, If they wouldn't be missed, then surely that would include the ability to cover the losses. Or is your logic different from that of others?

We have an AFL alignment providing players on tap we can afford to lose these players and more. If we had no alignment I agree we would need these top up players to field competitive league and reserves teams. Is that logic so difficult to understand. As it stands the alignment is in place for next year.

you lack any credibilty.blayne wilson has gone because the rules are clear.once he is delisted he reverts back to his club of origin peel.obviously he has decided to go to the bulldogs because of the alignment so he can play more footy and maybe be redrafted.east perth were never going to be able to retain him as they are not allowed to recruit out of club players except under exceptional circumstances(see peel).

Chaddy, before you get jumped on, I too thought of Blayne Wilson and thought that hellonewman had stuffed up, but I have checked the East Perth list of players on the WAFL Website and have noticed that you have a player named Lewis WILSON.

That might be who hellonewman is talking about.

MO he did play league, albeit once. as for the fee not my area of concern but you would expect something for a developed player wouldn't you, price is the question!

Marcus White left because he was going to struggle to get games.Marcus white changed kjobs and as a FIFO and unable to train he made the decision before the alignment that he could not do the club due service and went back to vic, he also had some injury issues

"The rest are not what you would call league players" Well I would call some of them league players. Brock Higgins, Arthur Bennell, Steve Wityk all could/would have played regular league games this season.

Sampey DID NOT leave 3 years ago. MMMM Samps was stuggling from at least 4 years ago with groin issues, he struggled to get through pre season and decided that football was not on the agenda til he got fit, (he still works at the same place (as I understand ) an he still can't do the lifting due to the injury. Why did those players leave? Because the club was forcing them to sign a contract to 2015, committing them to the club when they all knew positions would be hard to getnow you are in lala land no one is forced to sign a contract, the players signed of their own free will. More importantly, they would have been stuck under contract. Just as many of the current players who are trying to leave cannot because the club is asking ridiculous amounts to release them - $16k a player at least. Not sure how much the club is asking but if they want to leave good on them for deciding they have a better chnace elsewhere, as for the amount, what price would you put on developing a potential league opposition player, I have my thoughts but they are not for this forum

So your argument for the lack of mass exodus is just Howlett! I know exactly what is happening. Perhaps you should actually take off your rose colored glasses and face reality. How do you know, everyone on here knows who I am and where i come from with what I post, I am at the club three days a week, I see the boys in the gym and talk to them, I spent the GF happily drink amber stuff with those who are old enough, they are happy in my company and willing to talk, what are you another wanna be father whose son is not good enough!

A mass exodus IS happening. I challenge you to go back ANY year over the past 10 at ep and let us know where we have had any more than 15 ressie/league players leave over a 2 year period. Let alone pretty much an entire game day squad over that period. We have lost players at the end of each season, many of them from the country who decide life is better (or easier) playing for Deanmill or Margaret, a turnover of 15 players out of a league list of 55 is not unusual

I will also add that I have only mentioned players. How many officials and volunteers have also left?Once again you make a statement or ask a question without any knowledge, I see the same faces at the club each monday, tuesday and thursday and the one who have pull the pin have done so for reasons not related to the alignment but issues about the club being run as a business.

Try harder, do some research and at least try to get your fact right!
