With 5 games to go after this week I think we're pretty well set up to have a tilt at the finals. Last year from memory we had a bye just before the last round then missed week one of the finals for finishing on top which meant little footy for a few weeks which was not ideal. This year we should be match hardened with 5 games under our belt then a bye during week 1 of the finals then into it. Hopefully Newton, Halligan, Wheeler and maybe Stevo all good to go next week either in the league or two's...not sure where Scott Hancock is at and I noticed Justin Joyce resumed last week as well. If those six can get some game time we should be pretty much at full strength for the finals and it then comes down to selections which will be a nice headache for Schoey and co. Fingers crossed no more injuries between now and then. Hey Buddy Boy...do you have any updates on players coming back?

This week against Claremont could get interesting if Keifer Yu plays. I hope Josh Deluca has learnt his lesson not to call Yu names but to belt him instead...that way he'll only get a fine at best or a week at worst. Fingers crossed we get a few back including Ben Newton, Halligan, Stevenson and Wheeler even if it's in the ressies. It looks like there'll be a bit of rain around but still think we'll get up by about 4 goals.

I am sure Josh will keep quiet on Saturday and let his footy do the talking! A very important part of our midfield this year and it's been good to see his development this year since returning, possibly worth a punt by another afl team looking for a hard inside mid?

Yep...I agree Jim...he's certainly developed from a medium sized forward into an inside mid whilst at Peel and at 22 could be worth another crack at the big time. He's been very good this year that's for sure.

Apparently the weather for this weeks fixtures is said to be a shower or two, light winds and a maxima of approx 19º

Please don't pick this week to have an off day. We need you to beat Claremont comfortably.

We got over them by just under 15 goals in round 4 Cesspit so something similar would be nice but I can't see that happening.

No doubt it will be a pretty stern test for the Lions this week, hopefully one or two back off the injury list might help a bit.

yep...agree ooollll...we need all the help we can get.

Newton and Stevo in but still no Halligan or Clanger even in the ressies...plus Rhys Waters out. Not sure what the go is there.
