we need to avoid putting young players, such as those whom have been mentioned, in the ruck against grown men. We played Laurie Keene and David Court in the ruck in 1982; Keene had played just a few league games the previous year, Court had just one year of league football behind him -- he missed 1981 -- and things did not go well

We need an experienced ruckman, if we can't get someone, we will need to improvise as we have been doing for a few seasons.

Speaking of Ruckman is there any news on Dave Madut, how is he going in rehab after his knee injury. He looked set to take a significant step up as a ruckman before his latest injury. He's such an imposing looking figure on the field.

Hey DG, I've seen Ash play quite a bit of PSA footy for Hale School. As you said, he has an awful lot of filling out to do, but he is reasonably agile for a 204cm bloke, and is very talented with his tap work.

Unfortunately he has had some very significant injuries throughout his youth, which hasn't helped his development. I would expect him to be a solid contributor in the reserves next year.

Anyone know much about Josh Chapman? Only 198cm but seemed to hold his own most weeks in the ruck for the reserves as an 18 year old.

Thanks LD. A really good future prospect by the sounds. Same with Chapman from what I've heard. He's not as tall as Williamson but quite a bit more physically developed. Augurs well for the future but as we all know we need a good mature ruckman now, as do a lot of clubs.

Things went alright Ark. Keene went on to be the best ruckman in Australia imo and Court went to the tiges ;) . Only shit stirring, I agree with you 100%, we need a good mature ruckman priority. I have been saying it for a couple of years...

I'm not sure how accurate the Subi website is DG as I just noticed they have Josh Deluca on the league list which we know ain't gunna happen. :(

Building up quite a good list of ex SF players with Bailey Matera joining Fimmano and Sokol. Daniel Vidovich has certainly not lost his SF player contact list :(

from the Subi website it looks like we've signed Rowen Powell. 193cms and 80 odd kg. rookie listed by WCE in 2014 and played 13 games for WART in 2015. looks like he was delisted at the end of last year and played 2 league games with Claremont in 2016. at 21yo could be a work in progress who was cut down by injury over the last couple of years but obviously WCE saw something in him...so who knows?

Alot of potential bc, played his best game of wafl against us in the 2015 elimination final when he kicked 3. Broke his leg last year early on. Disappointed to lose him but will free up a bit of money for us

At 10 points and after breaking a leg, that would seem to be a bit of a gamble, but then again I respect the footballing nous of someone like Schofield who would have done his homework before committing to Rohan.Tiger, after looking at the waflonline site,it reads like he missed the first few games, then put together a string of high possession games in the ressies. In round 16 he was promoted to league but only scored low stats and then vanished.Did he break his leg this far into the season or was it really early in the season?
