I'm not sure how accurate the Subi website is DG as I just noticed they have Josh Deluca on the league list which we know ain't gunna happen. :(

Agree mate. Grimley to my knowledge is a very similar size to Hamish Shepheard, with both being that "not quite tall enough" size for an out-and-out ruckman, which we desperately need. And with Shepheard looking good last season, using the points on a key forward would probably not be the best. Would have been exciting to see Sam in the maroon & gold but not to be.

Sadly with the lack of media attention that the WAFL gets we tend to jump at any possible indications of news! You're right, don't think we can read too much into that players page just yet.

Yesterday I was informed by someone connected to the club that had Matt de Boer not been drafted by GWS, he would in fact be playing for Subiaco next year. Slightly disbelieving, I followed up with a second source connected to the club, and was told that yes, that is true.

What a get that would have been, shame he got drafted!

Very interesting LD. The biggest disappointment out of all of this as far as I'm concerned is missing out on Josh. Cat skull that bloke, the way he ironed out big saunders in the prelim will never be forgotten in my mind. Just what we are missing in the fwd line but in the big picture good on him for getting another chance

well...given it sounds like Hannath is playing in SA, Grimley has signed in Victoria and there's not too much left over here in WA in terms of ruckmen...hopefully the club finds a gem interstate like we did with Michael Rix a few years ago. As a midfielder, Morabito would be good get as well considering he wasn't picked up in the draft but main priority must be a ruckman.

Would have preferred him to get a crack at AFL level but

Have been thinking the same thing BC. It does look like if anyone is going to get a quality ruckman it will have to come from interstate. Hopefully Kitch/Dela etc. can entice a mate over!

Don't know much about Ashton Williamson. He seems like the only one of our up and coming ruckmen with genuine height 204cm and probably still growing. Obviously he needs to fill out but is he a chance to crack seniors next year?

Hey DG, I've seen Ash play quite a bit of PSA footy for Hale School. As you said, he has an awful lot of filling out to do, but he is reasonably agile for a 204cm bloke, and is very talented with his tap work.

Unfortunately he has had some very significant injuries throughout his youth, which hasn't helped his development. I would expect him to be a solid contributor in the reserves next year.

Anyone know much about Josh Chapman? Only 198cm but seemed to hold his own most weeks in the ruck for the reserves as an 18 year old.
