Yep...monaro was a class act. played CHB in the 73 premiership when Ian Cunningham was injured in the prelim and went on to win the Simpson.

I have many more newspaper pics of WAFL from this era as im trying to get as many as i can from 75 to 85

This is what a few of our AFL only friends need to see. This is a competition that has produced fine players and will continue to do so.

i must say i really enjoy and appreciate the pictures being put up on this subi post. being an EP person i guess the past holds so much more significance to me now. whether it be subi west perth swans or whoever, i still get great satisfaction looking at these great old pictures or anything that can make me remember how grand our wafl once was.

Jardine, it really is sad for East Perth supporters. They had no say in the allignment.

Yeah hopefully Po.cocko and Swandog and others can keep finding the old images because I can't seem to locate any more.

know it maybe a bit of a stretch but has anyone got later ones of wally marting, tommy robins, donny glass et al. showing my age but grew up watching subi standing on the wing between the wafl members stand and the old wooden grandstand.

Yeah, I've got some paper clippings from 76-77. Will put them on the subi thread at a later date. I used to cut out all sorts of stuff. Got a bunch of Daily News "team of the week" and would highlight any subi players that got a gig - not often in those days!
