Some great images there.

I am trying to compile an album of past Perth greats and am finding it very difficult finding photos of some that you would think it would be easy to find.

Keep up the good work LH.

Have you had a look at this site for images mate members.optusnet.com.au/~dgreen77/tcmob006.html

I'm just in the process of working out how to save them and repost them (With copyright acknowledgement of course)

I love looking at old pics. Love seeing the past players, either football or cricket.Could look at them for hours.
Had a mate at work who had a few pics that hung at the old Raffles. They were crackers. He still has them I think. One was the Gero mark.Signed and all.
I have some oldies hidden away at home here somewhere but need to go fossick to find them.Oldies from, I think, the Western mail. Now that goes back a long way.Have one of Ron Coffee.I think he was a Subi player,or was he Claremont.
Will have to look and see if I can find them and learn how to post them here.
I think the West Australian would be a good place to go to get old pics.I believe they bought out all the daily new and the ,the Independant photos. So there should be a few to go through there.

Excellent mate. I'll check the West and see what I can find.

Have a look at this collectibles site members.optusnet.com.au/~dgreen2/ All the great South players of all eras who were put onto footy cards. Just click a year, then scroll down the records.

Thanks LH some great names there.

Used to love the full backs of the day particularly Brian Sarre John Grieve & Graham Ramshaw (great drop kicks) hitting the centre spot with their kick outs, ruckman tapping it over the back to the rover, "GOOOOAAAAAL". What a great defence.

Yeah I was just a bit young to see those blokes but I can just remember the last of the drop-kick era players. I seem to remember John Quartermaine still using it out of full back sometimes. Graham Melrose used to use it. Barry Cable of course.

Bary Cable, John Todd & Ray Sorrell were amongst the best drop kicks I saw (not longest) but some of those great full backs were mind blowing.

Certainly got the ball out of defence in a hurry.

I remember Toddy kicking a goal at Lathlain towards the city end from behind the centre. Fortunately it was a scratchy, about 1962 or 1963 I reckon.

No, it's all good. I enjoy hearing about past players.

About 10 years ago I was sitting having a drink in the bar at Subiaco Oval.

An elderly fellow was sitting next to me. I got talking to him. He said his name was Jack Jennings. I said "The Jack Jennings that won the goalkicking?"

And it was! He kicked 92 goals in 1934 and 93 goals in 1935.

He told me about the club back then. He could remember vividly Haydn Bunton snr, Lou Daily, Johnny Bowe, Les Hardiman and many other greats from the era. It was the best footy chat I've ever had.

Sadly, Jack passed away not so many years ago but what a great fella he was.

Most of the old timers were just unassuming bloody good blokes.

LH the player in the photo with Neil Balme is the great Keith Watt. Neil and Keith by the way went to school together at Hollywood High.
