That would be awesome, we might actually get a different opinion and fresh stories that aren’t just copied and pasted from The West. Perth now has turned into a tabloid news site if you can call it that.

Having no competition is unhealthy. Murdoch probably got paid overs before, an offer he couldn’t refuse. Can’t see Stokes selling it back and there is probably a clause in the sale preventing Murdoch starting another publication. Can understand that in other businesses but that’s just not right when it comes to media.

Once again there is meant to be competition watchdogs that don’t allow this to happen but they do.

Stokes and 7 are losing money hand over fist, the only way they can get back is to cut costs and increase prices, I predicted the Sunday Times would go extinct in 10 years or so, I doubt Murdoch would ever buy it back - there is zero money in it.

Even when Newscorp owned the ST, there was all the usual anti Murdoch conspiracy theorists out there that bagged the fact he owned it, well are we any better off now with one owner?

AAP went bust yesterday , the internet news services have changed everything, you can get news from a hundred different sources at the push of a finger, some free some not.

All the more reason why people should subscribe instead of being cheap arses expecting everything for free.

Geez they were wonderful days - the game day build ups were and are still to this day unrivalled and so were the one on one match ups were all over the ground(s) given the sheer amount of fabulous players across the league

Considering the lack of footy (sport in general) on at the minute due to the CV and the potential of none very soon wouldnt it be great if Ch7 & Ch2 pulled out some of their old 1970s & 1980s WAFL tapes from the vault and showed them to the masses here...gee some of those great battles of years past would be salivating viewing and might give everyone a pick me up in what is uncertain times at present.

Mate I'd pay for it too - there's some superb archives intact and it would be brilliant to revisit our heritage
the skerricks that exist on places like Youtube are bloody good

What a brilliant idea BH...maybe we could PM John Townsend on here and see what he reckons.

I don’t think it would go. Generation ‘why?’ And generation ‘Gimme’ wouldn’t Watch it because it’s just plain, great, hard footy. No glitz, no American influence. No pop stars either.

Great idea BH, would love to watch those great early mid 80's (up to 87) GF's again.

Was pleased and shocked in equal measure to see our "beloved" WAFC leader being interviewed on a couple of channels yesterday outlining the future or lack thereof of the WAFL and what steps will be taken to ensure it's protection. He made a few feel good comments but did say it was the WAFC's job to ensure the clubs survive, we shall all wait with baited breath to see if he speaks with forked tongue.
