I'm just waiting for the day they start making people pay to view the notices.

Jack couldn't see this story due to the subscription wall. Not sure how many people can be bothered paying for this rag. I certainly wouldn't. How about a good old copy and paste?

That's a bit hypocritical mike saying you don't know how people can be bothered buying this rag then asking the same who can be bothered making a good old copy and paste for your benefit? I certainly wouldn't. :P

I think the same people who whinge about subscription probably rarely bought a paper instead prepared to take a trip down the supermarket or pop into the newsagent for a quick flick through the sports pages. Or prepared to spend $6 on a breakfast at McDonald's so you can have a free read of the paper that 4 others have smeared their grubby fingers all over. You think you're getting something for free but you're spending more on juice to get you there and back. The next days paper is released on the digital edition within minutes after 12 am every day.

It is a lot cheaper than the paper itself working out to 92 cents a day including the Sunday Times and Saturday's West. Those papers are around $2 to $2.50 alone. I got a phone call from The West the other day offering to deliver the two weekend papers for an extra $2 a week. I declined I'm happy reading the digital edition on my iPad and I probably wouldn't see it anyway. I'm the end unit of a quadruplex so I'm sure someone would pick it up from the front verge on their morning walk. Lol

All of you complaining spend the same on one pint or scooner what it costs you per week for digital subscription. Stop whinging about it, if you don't want to subscribe fair enough but don't then complain about it.

I used to buy the paper every day DD for 30+ years but I refuse to now as they have treated those loyal buyer-readers with contempt with this new paywall up now and the selected stories (usually WAFL/SDFC ones) they hide in there.
They have lost me and many others with that stance for good.

Again I don't understand your logic BH. You used to buy the paper for 30+ years but won't spend significantly less for the digital edition. I don't shy away from my initial reaction but I came to the conclusion and realization that we were able to enjoy full online content for free for probably the last 10 years or so since smart phones and devices have become bigger and better so we get our back up when suddenly content is blocked and we have to pay.

Each to there own you decide what's important to you but it's a bit hypocritical to then come on here asking others who pay to put up a screenshot. Not saying you have but some here do.

42 Fantastic shots from yesterdays Highway to Hell ACDC tribute in the online West today. Couldn't put that on a hard copy
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

But they are not alternatives. The online version is better is what people don’t like.

The paper edition probably runs at a high loss, probably why they’re trying to encourage people to subscribe. I reckon soon you won’t have a choice. They’ll eventually stop printing. Costs are just getting too high.

Just go down newsagents and buy a copy, like everyone used to do.

On 6PR this morning Millsy and Baz were talking about Murdoch wanting to buy the Sunday Times back off 7West media. That would be awesome, we might actually get a different opinion and fresh stories that aren’t just copied and pasted from The West. Perth now has turned into a tabloid news site if you can call it that.

Having no competition is unhealthy. Murdoch probably got paid overs before, an offer he couldn’t refuse. Can’t see Stokes selling it back and there is probably a clause in the sale preventing Murdoch starting another publication. Can understand that in other businesses but that’s just not right when it comes to media.

Once again there is meant to be competition watchdogs that don’t allow this to happen but they do.
