Cook saying you can get a bus home from airport, but dont sit close to anyone and dont stop at pub on way home, you can hang out with family members , they can leave the house but you cant, even though you might have passed it on to them...

absolute joke

The mob I work for have just introduced a form which needs to be filled out and signed by anyone outside the organisation you're having meetings with. It asks them if they've been overseas or had recent contact with anyone who's sick and so on. FMD...I catch public transport to work so do I need to hand them out to the 20 or so people who stand/sit within 2 meters of me during my peak hour commute each morning and afternoon? Some of the stuff coming out from all sources is bloody ridiculous.

Absoloutley agree BC

If this isn't a half baked half pregnant set up I dont know what is.

So you can get off the plane pass the virus onto the cab driver or people of the bus , then lock yourself up for a fortnight, next customer jumps in the cabs and so on...fmd.,

I also get the train mate each day,

Another mad thing is NSW has more cases itself than the rest of Australia put together, and more cases than a lot of OS nations, yet people are coming and going on planes to other states no problems...absolute joke.

if the vast majority of people, according to the doctors are not going to have serious problems, the country should just muddle through.

I think in England they have started to isolate the elderly at home and in care places, because they are the most at risk of hospitalisation if they get the virus.

I think everyone understands that most if not all are going to get it at some point but I think the government is just trying to flatten the curve so we don't all get it at once and put huge pressure on health services. It appears the Poms have accepted it as a fait accompli and aren't doing a whole lot to slow things down which could come back to bite them on the arse. I agree Baz that a lot of stuff coming out now from our government appears to be policy on the run and really all this should have been carefully thought through, planned and implemented in stages ages ago.

Boris is going to take over hotels -- if necessary -- using the War Powers Act.

Yep for sure mate, given they have had since December to work on this.

Apparently airports where chaos last night, some flights inflight got told about the 2 week isolation policy and got off at Singapore and got next flight home.

Sounds like people over 70 in the UK asked to stay home, probably makes more sense than the stuff we are doing here.

Absolutely Bazza, whether people will enforce the policy on the elderly is another matter

I believe the policy here is self isolation, so I am unsure why the aeroplanes turned around. In other words, if you come back from overseas, your supposed to not turn up for work for two weeks. I am sure that is what Morrison said.
