Lots of footballer supported other clubs when they were growing up but had to change because of circumstances. But obviously all those Swan boys are prepared to walk away from a blossoming AFL career to play for the Swannies.

What the hell has your inane question above got to do with the fact Nico answered Swan Districts as the club he supported as a kid thus completely bypassing over your beloved 18 Vicco League comp's teams!! B)

I think we will see Alex Pearce get an opportunity next year and Tanner Smith is a good size who could fill that role but Sylvagni must have the front running and Ross needs to show faith in him. I think Matt de Boer has some value at the trade table for a club like Melbourne if Fremantle are any chance to get Frawley. de Boer is a hard nut with a terrific work rate, lacks the polish of our other mids but I think he would be great value to Melbourne.

Another player I think has some value at the trade table would be Jack Hannath.

its about every SD player ever produced walking away from the AFL to go back to swans rather than play for someone else if you listen to 42.

Your view that everything AFL is wrong, is becoming boring.
From what I have seen and read of your posts I take it that you are Fremantle Dockers supporter, am I right?
There is no doubt that Walters or Pearce would have gone back to Peel if the alignment was in place back then. Your rant that Walters would have walked away is total garbage and you know it.

A/man your comments above would have to rate in the most puerile and vacuous comments I have ever had the misfortune to read. I have written what I believe would have happened to Son Son if he had been sent to Peel. It beggars belief that you think that you know what I believe better than myself. It is indeed interesting that you think that Fremantle will trade Pearce. One can only surmise that the Peel host club alignment has not been conducive to further development of Pearce as a player. With respect to the football club I support I have been supporting Swan Districts Football Club from the 1960s and will continue to do so until i expire or they expire.

Perhaps you can explain how the host club alignment has helped the WAFL competition.

My apologies to Mikeh et al that some of the posts have strayed from the topic at hand. However, I will not have A/man or BC attribute to me views which are patently not mine.

I have no doubt Walters is a passionate SD man like Clancee, but come end of the day they would of be both immature and stupid to walk away from lucrative careers as a professional sportsmen, simply because they had to dress up in Peel colours to prove their fitness and desire to get back on the AFL stage  ......not everyone is passionate about the SDFC as you would like to think 42.......the WAFL is a stepping stone for these boys.......nothing more nothing less!

Bang on. No one in their right mind would walk away from a 6 figure salary just because they didnt want to play for a particular reserves team.

No to James Frawley for me. Overpriced and isn't the best decision maker when under pressure.

I think his price has come down considerably. They reckon Geelong are offering him 2.5k over 5. Swap for de Boer plus a 3rd round pick?

anchorman wrote: Swan the fact that I see Pearce as a tradeable player is brought about by the fact that I don't see a position for him after this year. He along with Deboer are both tradeable players and in my opinion they will be traded. It has nothing to do with Peel or whoever else, they have reached their use by date at Fremantle, or they have in my opinion.
If my comments don't suit you then don't read them, simple as that. Or do what Bazza does and either don't read them when it hurts you.
Our discussions on the alignment have been repeated over and over and over again. It seems to be the fact that either you don't remember or are not prepared to accept that I had my opinion and still. If you can't remember what I said I suggest you go to a memory specialist.
As I said you constant carping about the alignment, along with all your Swannie mates is , or has become very, very, boring.
I also think that Frawleys price had drastically dropped in the last half of the season, but I still would like to see him in a Purple jumper.
Yes Smith and Pearce will be good players for us as back men but I am not sure they will get a crack next season. They will get chances as long as they stay on the park, but I think another pre-season will do them the world of good.
I am not sure about Hannath, but he was recruited to be a ruckman for us and he would be a long term proposition. With Sandilands getting close to retiring, Zac Clarke will step in to replace him. I am not sure how Jon Griffen will go, and whether he will stand up again to the pressure of the AFL.
Our other long term project Craig Moller doesn't seemed to have stepped up to the plate as yet. He is till a skinny kid and doesn't seemed to have come along as well as I thought he might.
So in my opinion, with all that I see Hannath as being a keeper.

Unlike you a/man I have an active interest, and hence a reason, to continue to harp on, in your opinion, about the host club alignment which is fundamentally abd for the WAFL competition. With respect to C Pearce and M de Boer we shall see if they are traded or delisted at the end of the season. How many WAFL league games played this year and that perhaps indicates where his current development is at for the time being? Do you expect him to be delisted at the end of this season?
