PJ on 91.3 yesterday said the story in the West WASN'T TRUE and my understanding is that there never was any agreement between the WAFL clubs to ejevt West Perth from the finals.

One would think this to be true ??? Every club would surely feel for WP in their unique situation knowing to well how important sponsors are to WAFL clubs ??? Although not my fav WAFL club I'd go in and bat for them any day of the week on this TV bullshit situation where the Falcons are the meat in the sandwich !!!

Thanks to the SD football club for this release.. it goes to show never believe the Media and thanks to SDFC a traditional WAFL club in the real spirit of the competition.

www.swandistrictsfc.com.au/news/club-new...-from-the-president/

The Swan Districts Football Club would like to assure all of our members and supporters, along with members and supporters of all WAFL clubs that at no time have we supported the removal of the WPFC from the 2015 finals or provided ultimatums for not removing their sponsors logo from their jumpers.

Our football club, along with the other seven WAFL clubs affected, have provided the WAFC with direction to find a resolution to ensure the telecast of the 2015 McDonalds WAFL final series along with the continued telecast of WAFL football into 2016 and beyond’

When you think main reason or intent behind most Sponsorships is to form a partnership between 2 entities and I would think more importantly for the sponsor to get increase brand reach through greater exposure.

You would have to think Channel 9 would have to be absolutely delighted with what they and West Perth have been able to achieve given the above criteria.

To be able to gain exposure at a local State level , National and International level is something most sponsors could only dream of(You cannot put a price that type of publicity)
Well done to both Channel9 and West Perth on what they have been able to achieve. You have to give credit to both for such a brave and innovative arrangement.

I think the most interesting part is every time channel 7 or another WAFL club talks about the current issue around TV coverage , West Perth and Channel 9 get more coverage . I would think West Perth should increase the price of any future sponsorships packages as they can almost guarantee any Sponsor better exposure than any other club (would be very hard for anyone to argue against at the moment)

Aak for 30 mill each.

Yep just heard that Bazza 7 West and our loyal WA owner Stokes. Think he follows $ubiaco
Joint partners Telstra (thats the iphones covered). Foxtel (thats the pay networks covered)
Newscorp (thats the media covered)
For 6 years :(

Now as I said on a previous post I heard whispers there was more to CHN7 getting the contract and it involved the new stadium.. Ticketing etc etc.
Possibly a sweet heart deal between the WAFC and 7?
There are going to be up to 12 Thurs night games comming in next year... They will be played at Stadiums OUTSIDE OF VICTORIA... Must be the crowd thing LOL.
Heard 7 were also concerned as their ratings were down this year in the AFL arena.

Makes you wonder why CHN 7 would even bother with the WAFL doesnt it considering the cost of the AFL games and the amount they received for showing Limited WAFL Games. Still cant get over them not showing the State game but it tells the story.
I suspect getting the WAFL deal and getting into bed with the WAFC was just a safety net before the opening of the new stadium?

The plot thickens. 9 most probably didnt stand a chance of getting the WAFL games even if they did it for free!!!

Time for a bourbon.. :P

Hmmm the plot thickens... On the news tonight West 7 (our mate Stokes) made a 1.9 Billion loss in the last financial year.. Ratings down on TV AFL games and Ratings down at Channel 7 (they cant work that out but they claim the AFL games have lost their magic with viewers)

I am not surprised as the games look like they are scripted and are so Plastic to watch. :(

Sure many will agree going to a real WAFL game similiar to last weekend WP V SWANS has a totally different context an is a REAL contest.

WAFL crowds are up and I really think people are comming back to the REAL THING at WAFL level. Of course the WAFC is trying to destroy our game and are a bit worried about the new popularity of GRASSROOTS footy.

I wish Mister Stokes and the WAFC a great future which hopefully will end up in disaster for both.. Nasty you say... but lets be honest they are the Self serving pricks here.
What goes around comes around.

Obviously some plan in place to save both organisations.. 2 organisations who dont give a Fark about WAFL FOOTY.

Have a good weekend at your WAFL game and all the best to your teams..

Cardy, FYI I did approach Hodes last weekend at Joondy and he offered me the same response. In the time I was around him, 1 1/2qtrs approx, there was maybe 5-6 approaches from other Swans supporters asking the same question. Clearly a bullshit article based on untruths in the West and really happy to see our prez call it out for what it is...WAFC7 propaganda

Thanks DW and other Swannies supporters for you support :)

Interesting what comes out of the WAFC. In an article I read they claim it was not their decision but the other clubs decision... YEH SURE!!!!
It now appears the newspaper article was incorrect or the CEO's are not telling their presidents the results of their monthly meetings.
I cannot believe JT would write something that he made up????

We signed with Channel 9 two weeks earlier on February 28, 2014. It is worth noting that the WAFC did not sign with Channel 7 until March 2015. thing I still cant get my head around is why if the WPFC contract with CHN 9 was signed

To quote David Crute our CEO
We signed with Channel 9 two weeks earlier on February 28, 2014. It is worth noting that the WAFC did not sign with Channel 7 until March 2015. Unquote

My Question is why did CHN 7 Sign the contract knowing full well that WPFC already had a sponsership with WPFC? Surely if they were concerned with the deal they would of bought this issue up before signing the contract!!!!! I suspect they did and the WAFL told them it wasnt a issue and they would sort it out... And they havent. It all comes back onto the head of the WAFC

I did send a SMS to WAFL WORLD as Brett Raponi was guest. He said he had just asked that same question to the WAFC and they COULD NOT GIVE AN ANSWER.... ;)
It appears the WAFC is dodging for cover and are misleading people?

WAFL WORLD Will be on 91.3 podcast today.. Dan ran out of time so the SMS message had to be rushed but he fitted them in. Brett also talks of the issue early in the programme.
